I wouldnt ask if i was you.
Some fecker will be a long soon enough to tell you they hate them and that they remind them of a glue sniffer they once knew.

not sure about any of the boy names - sorry.

Of the girl's names I love Isla but it seems to be increasingly popular - we had almost decided on it for dc2 due in about 8 weeks but now wavering as don't want something too fasionable. Also like Lola a lot but have reservations about the links other people make.

blush I don't like any of them, sorry!

Dd was nearly Isla, but have really gone off that now. If I had to pick though I'd say the best were Matthew and Isla.

Oh we don't really have any boys names despite not knowing what sex the baby is. We're not very good at agreeing on those things. Possibly Jacob or Toby but we don't really get excited about either tbh, still waiting for inspiration - hence why reading name threads !!

Lola and Matthew are my fav from that list

BlueChampagne Tue 13-Jan-09 22:32:54

Francis was on our short list, as were Aidan, Justin, Laurence, Morgan, Harvey and Lewis. Any help?

sweetkitty Tue 13-Jan-09 22:35:01

another vote for Isla and Matthew

Cies Tue 13-Jan-09 22:36:36

Francis and Verity are my favourites.

I don't like Lola or Beau at all I'm afraid.

piscesmoon Tue 13-Jan-09 22:42:57

Matthew and Verity.
Hate the rest!

piscesmoon Tue 13-Jan-09 22:43:52

Except Isla OK. Francis as long as it is never shortened to Frankie.

Xavier - depends on how you are intending to pronounce it.
Francis (Frankie) Fine
Matthew Fine
Beau Please, no

Verity okay
Isla maybe
Lola listened to way too much Barry Manilow growing up and couldn't do this to a child.

love Xavier and Isla

BoccaDellaVerita Tue 13-Jan-09 23:05:00

Francis and Verity for me.

Matthew and Lola - no, too many of them already and Isla seems to be heading the same way, if MN threads are anything to go by

Xavier and Beau - sorry, no

How about Jerome?

Sesi Tue 13-Jan-09 23:18:52

Xavier - Very nice, cool but not too out there.
Francis (Frankie) - Francis is fab by itself. My favourite of your choices. Not keen on Frankie.
Matthew - When someone calls their son Mathew I just think 'lack of imagination'. Sorry!
Beau - I think it's very chavvy if that bothers you.

Verity - It's ok.
Isla - It's getting too popular, I think it's going to be the new Ella if that bothers you.
Lola - Too many celebs have chosen this so it seems a bit wannabe to me.

I like Xavier & Francis, the girls names aren't really quite as nice imo.
