Neither am I really but we are trying to come up with a compromise name. I think we are back to Alex now anyway.

I like it. It's not a name i've heard before, but sounds distinguished rather than silly.

Do you have something about names beginning with A? I really liked Albert (Albie) but have had two girls!

I love Alex

And Lex, as a shortened version

There is a character in 'small soldiers' called archer but he is a toy and a sort of monster (but a nice one). Not sure I could get past that. Lex is Lex luthor.
BTW I am not a film nut!

I don't know why but I do like A names. I liked Aaron but DH shot me down on that. I keep coming up with names and he keeps saying no way but isn't suggesting anything either. So I am scraping the bottom of the barrel.

DH has 5 brothers with my top 5 fave names. So those names are all out. My 9 nephews all have my other favourite names. Alex and Archer are growing on me anyway.

But there are Alex's everywhere...at least 2 girls and 2 boys in our dc's class.... whereas Archer is unique and nice sounding!

I like Archer, and Archie.
I like Alex too, but it's very popular where I live so that would put me off.

Archer is horrible. They would probably have to put up with people humming 'the Archers' theme tune!
How about Adam?

I liked Ashby, well still like but DH has said no, like he has with every other name, sounds like your DH lol

Archer is a surname and makes you think of Jeffrey Archer.

I like Asher and Alfie, but not keen on Archer

Asher is nicer IMO, pukka old testament name.

A surname that makes many many people think Dum-de-dum-de-dum-de-dum

I know a two year old called Archer - he's always been known as Archie though. I prefer Alex, having one myself

Huh? Is that the theme tune to "Archers"? Someone mentioned it on this thread but I have never seen it.
