Well my middle name is Margaret, but I don't like Maggie much tbh - if it was my first name I would prefer the nickname Greta...

but that is just me

(not my first name anyway!)

I really like it (particularly after reading Mill on the Floss) but the Thatcher thing puts me off, plus DH is five years older than me so it's an even stronger association for him. Pah.

nice name but there is the maggot factor.

Margot is a nightmare name, i can confidently say. no one can pronounce it or spell it.

i like it, wanted my niece to be called this, because she looked like a maggie but they went with Ayesha instead. tut, these parentas that think they have the right to name their offspring eh!?

I am having a Maggie next time round, short for Marianne which i love but is a bit of a mouthful!

So yes its great go for it x
