if you love it, then have it

Personally, I prefer Stockholm, but each to their own wink

Twelvelegs Sat 13-Sep-08 22:00:18

We are going to do it, I just wondered what type of negative response we would get.

I quite like it v unusual and nothing wrong with norway!

KAEKAE Sun 14-Sep-08 01:06:44

No reminds me of that large man on Keeping Up Appearances. I am not keen on it at all.

FairLadyRantALot Sun 14-Sep-08 10:30:08

Astra I have a cousin caled Bjoern...scandinavian names are often used in Germany

As for a name really is it?

Twelvelegs Sun 14-Sep-08 10:51:14

But both of my boys have
unusual names, not twee and still masculine, and I couldn't 'do' traditional names as it wouldn't fit.

I hate names like Daniel, Peter, Joshua, Theo, Luke, Jack and all the other tripe that appears on every name list.

SoupDragon Sun 14-Sep-08 10:52:16

If you like place names how about Scunthorpe?

FairLadyRantALot Sun 14-Sep-08 10:57:23

my boys don't have traditional names, but that doesn't have to mean that you have to use placenames to name your kids, surely....

Twelvelegs Sun 14-Sep-08 11:25:21

yes, scunthorpe seems more foreign to me than Oslo!!!
Anyway it will be Oslo unless we find a better name. Just feel well warned of the reception.

wheresthehamster Sun 14-Sep-08 12:08:08

Agree, I immediately thought of Onslow from Keeping up Appearances! Don't do it!!!

Quattrocento Sun 14-Sep-08 12:14:14

Oslo. Oh dear. Well it could be worse.

meandmyjoe Sat 18-Oct-08 18:24:16

Have to say I quite like it. I wouldn't use it as I do like traditional names and have a Joseph so Twelvelegs will be cringing! If you like it go for it. I also love the name scunthorpe, lol but couldn't use it cos it's were I live sad

Not sad cos I can't use it but sad cos I live there!
