Go the whole hog with the 70's option - like my mum did (actually I think it scans quite well...)

I'm going to have to say it, are you really sure you want to call your daughter Samantha?

Cause all of those middle names suggestions are nicer than Samantha.

wow - interesting choice - it's so terminally associated with the character in Bewitched which has now spawned a generation of Samanthas who would now be aged about 34-44. Brave.

As for middle names - could stay with the whole 60s 70s vibe and go with Anne, Jayne or Louise - otherwise.. I'm stuck!

I know a few young Samantha's and they are lovely girls so i have great connotations with the name

Out of your choices i like

Samantha Lucy and Samantha Mary.
I don't think Samantha Molly goes somehow.

How about

Samantha Louise
Samantha Rachel
Samantha Hope
Samantha Francis

My friend is Samantha Jo (though it may be too close to Dynasty's Sammy Jo - or was that on Dallas?).

Thanks. Yes, I like Samantha. I just can't face having a 2008 Polly, Daisy, Chloe, Molly, Lilly, Sophie, Lucy, etc.

No doubt I will go for bog standard 2008 middle name. Like Samantha Mary the most so far.

...by the way, I was given an unusual middle name - Louie. For 34 years, I've been explaining that, no, there is not an 's' missing, it really is just Louie! Used to really hate it and was embarrased at school by it but now really like it.

Not for 20 yrs. Maybe you will have a granddaughter called Samantha.

Samanthas are all about 41 yrs old. Girls called Sammy used to annoy me so much when I was growing up. You just knew a Samantha was going to be a pain in the neck.

If you want to do a 70s name, how about Jillian or Melanie. At least they are very pretty.
