Here's the list so far:

Juian is DH's favourite. I really like Jensen. Neither one of us is mad about each other's choice so I've come up with the others to try to find something we both like. I'm drawn to Desmond but DH doesn't seem keen. What sort of associations does Desmond have? I also quite like Isaac as it sounds good with our surname and I like the meaning (laughter). I'm kind of just 'eh' on Lucas and Evan, they seem maybe a bit too popular for my liking.

Oh, and the middle name will be James.

What do you think?

I like Julian, Lucas and Evan.

my friend has a teenager called Vincent and it is really cool

ScoobyDoo Mon 11-Aug-08 17:00:47

I like Isaac & Lucas.

rosealbie Mon 11-Aug-08 17:01:22

Out of them all I prefer Lucas or Evan.

justhavingamoan Mon 11-Aug-08 17:04:44

None of them.

FabioFridgeFluffFrenzy Mon 11-Aug-08 17:06:39

Lucas or Isaac.
Not nuts about the rest tbh.

Desmond is an old man's name.

I love it. Cool, sexy, suits a man and a boy and a youth. Vinnie for a baby.

Quite like Lucas. But not half as much as Vincent <swoon>.

(I used to know an incredibly hot Vincent grin)

Vincent sounds best with James imho, tho Isaac James is nice too.

See, I think the reason I was drawn to Desmond is purely because I liked the Desmond character on Lost. I just realised the nickname would be Des though, which I really don't like. So that's vetoed.

Julian and Vincent -- sounds like a scene out of Pulp Fiction! LOL

Only problem with Vincent is that I don't like Vinnie as a nickname. Vince is quite nice though. Do you think he'd likely be called Vince or Vinnie?

ForeverOptimistic Mon 11-Aug-08 17:13:34

I only like Lucas.

beanieb Mon 11-Aug-08 17:14:41

Evan and Isaac

sweetkitty Mon 11-Aug-08 17:14:45

Lucas or Isaac

LazyLinePainterJane Mon 11-Aug-08 17:15:38

Well, when he is small, he will be called whatever you choose, but when he hits 10 or so, he is likely to choose his own shortening, or his friends will pick one.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt Mon 11-Aug-08 17:18:21

Evan or Lucas

Desmond makes me think of a babers shop in Peckham, or the bloke who was married to Daphne in Neighbours!

If you don't like popular then cross off Jensen, Lucas and Isaac.

I haven't come across any Evans but nammes can be very regional. Really like that name btw.

Don't like Desmond or Vincent.

Julian is ok, but don't love it.

funnypeculiar Mon 11-Aug-08 17:44:19

Like Evan - not very popular around here (although I agree it's a 'now' sort of name)
Like Vincent (although I am also biased by a Vincent I fancied at school grin)
Lucas is Ok, although a bit now.

Desmond makes me think of that Barber's sitcom (never watched it)

loler Mon 11-Aug-08 17:44:54

Isaac and Lucas.

Again desmond reminds me of the tv programme - silly reason not to like it as the baby will never even see the programme!

Vincent and Julian are a bit nerdy names to me. This is whole related to the people I know call them. Ask any one about any name and you get their responce based on the people they know.

Jensen is a bit now so is likely to age?

Like Evan but there are quite a few around here.

Flossyjim Mon 11-Aug-08 17:50:38

Vincent. Was my Dads middle name so I love it. Goes well with James.

minouminou Tue 12-Aug-08 13:55:53

vinnie is a bit naff, yes, but just make sure it becomes vince

HonoriaGlossop Tue 12-Aug-08 14:46:48

Isaac James is a lovely name. Very classy

AbbeyA Tue 12-Aug-08 14:59:38

I don't like any of them. Isaac is the best.

suzywong Tue 12-Aug-08 15:01:21

very cool

Jensen is awful
well you did ask

Desmond, along with Derick and Roger is due for a resurgence, you could be streaks ahead of the pack with that one
