So what do you think of Oscar? Which spelling Oscar or Oskar?

How about it Oscar Elliot Anchorsholme? Anchorsholme is the surname!

Is this a child in the internet cafe?

hayley2u Thu 07-Aug-08 11:25:08

no sorry dont like it, very geeky, sorry xx

Moomin Thu 07-Aug-08 11:26:43

I like Oscar. Dd2's little best friend is called this and really suits him. I might choose a different (shorter) middle name myself, but there again, you won't be calling his full name out much will you?

OiMum Thu 07-Aug-08 11:37:25

Geeky!! shock My son is called Oscar and it suits him perfectly. It'll suit him right from being a shrivelled up little old man newborn right through to true shrivelled up little old man years. It's a good, strong name with just the right hint of cheekiness to it. Go for it!

LuLuBai Thu 07-Aug-08 11:39:11

Oscar is a brilliant name. I like Elliot a lot too.

LynetteScavo Thu 07-Aug-08 11:40:24

LynetteScavo Thu 07-Aug-08 11:41:08

Is Oscar/Oskar in his new bugaboo? wink

nailpolish Thu 07-Aug-08 11:41:33

lynette shock

LuLuBai Thu 07-Aug-08 11:42:42

I agree with OiMum - it is not the slightest bit geeky. All the Oscars I have known have been strong characters and rather cool. My DD (aged 16 months) is a bit in love with a little boy called Oscar at the moment (she feeds him and they cuddle each other - so cute).

clairebear88 Thu 07-Aug-08 11:43:42

I really like the name and would spell it Oscar. My friend has an Oscar and he is know as Oz.
Go for it as goes well with Elliot too

WaynettaSlob Thu 07-Aug-08 11:44:45

I love it, and want it if DC3 is a boy - hubby not too keen. sad

Stick witht the Oscar spelling - he will end up having to spell his surname a lot, doesn't need to correct spellings of his first name too.

elijahblue Thu 07-Aug-08 13:20:07

Oscar Elliot is a FAB name - go for it!

flubdub Thu 07-Aug-08 13:21:06

lovely name

(what are you on about lynette?!!)

LynetteScavo Thu 07-Aug-08 15:21:16

What am I on about?

Oscar was rare when I chose it 5 years ago. Now every toddler group has at least 2 Oscars. I liked my DS having a slightly unusual name. Oh, well.

DoubleBluff Thu 07-Aug-08 15:22:54

oscar is a fantastic name wish i had used it!

jammydodger Thu 07-Aug-08 15:25:55

I too have an Oscar - gorgeous name. One of the best!!

RoccocoFlourishes Thu 07-Aug-08 20:36:19

It's ok.

I prefer Victor. Victor is the new Oscar. Be brave, use Victor. MUCH cooler. Lovely meaning too.

Hulababy Thu 07-Aug-08 21:01:09
