Middle names?

Our second baby is arriving on 25th and we are trying to get sorted with names, nightmare!

If the baby is a girl I would like her to have 2 middle names, DH wants just 1.

Most of the females in my family have 2 middle names and I just like it.

The name I want is Lily Madeline Aurora.

I just love it, or should I settle for what DH wants, Lucy Madeline?

My DD has two middle names, as have I. What about Lucy Madeline Aurora (I like Aurora!) as a compromise? Lucy seems less popular than Lily, which I would see as an advantage...

Your DH might find 2 middle names easier to accept if one is shorter- "Madeline Rose" or "Aurora May", for example. Or maybe compromise on Lucy instead of Lily in return for two middle names. Hormonal pregnant sobbing also worth a try

Madeline is after my Mum, so non-negotiable and thats how she spells it.

I really like Madeline Rose.

I may have to work on DH!

Funny you say that, I said to DH earlier that I wouldn't give a boy 2 middle names. DS has 1 middle name and we have chosen 1 if this baby is a boy too, will be easier if it is as we chose boys' names no bother!!

Oddly, my brothers have 1 middle name each and my sister and 1 have two each. Is it 'cos girls names are so pretty parents have to try and use as many as they can?

I love Aurora, but wouldn't use it as a first name and want to use my Mum's name too. So it has to be relegated to 3rd name! I really want to use it though

Neither DH, nor I, nor either of our DSs have a middle name. Sorry - not meaning to high jack your thread!

But after reading your thread it's suddenly occurred to me that this might be quite unusual.

There's the name Aure which means breeze.

Or "Madeleine Dawn" with the same meaning as Aurora

One of my brother's and my DH have no middle name.

I always wondered why.
