I like Edmund or Edward more than these two. Of the two, I think I prefer Edwin, but that might be because my mum had a cousin called Edgar but everyone pronounced it Egger.

I prefer Edwin of the two. My old Head was called Edgar XXXXX so reminds me of a strict bald bloke

Out of the two I prefer Edwin, although I think Edward and Edmund are nicer.

Edmund - nice

or Edward is nice too.

Edgar sounds malicous and sneaky to me (sorry, not sure why!)
Edwin sounds a bit wimpy. Again sorry can't tell you why, it just does.

Eddie then?

Edward is lovely.

Edgar is pretentious and pretty but bearable.

Edmund is pretentious and ugly.

Edwin is silly.

Are you joking?? Edwin, if a choice is necessary. You could say it's after Edwyn Collins to add some cool. But it's a bit girly.

I love Edgar, fantastic name imho. Don't warm to Edwin (thinking Edwina Currie).

Love Edgar, reminds me of Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City where the twins are named Anna and Edgar.

I've taught a lovely (and very cool!) Edwin, as well. Stands out without being silly.

Edmund

Ah, well think I must be a lone voice who really like the name Edwin. Think it is nice but without the over popularity of Edward. Given that the child is likely to be an Ed or Ted or whatever anyway... I really like Edwin (but had lots of cool reactions when we considered it with DD2).
