I had a dog called Bruno!, Sorry. grin He was gorgeous, but you can't shorten that name. I don't see why you would want to shorten it anyway.

I've got two Brunos in my family. Never heard of it being shortened. Why would you want to?

Bru is short for Irn Bru (or tea).

I like Bruno though.

Bru. I know a girl called Bruna and this is what her name is commonly shortened to.

Sparkletastic Fri 01-Aug-08 21:19:56

I wouldn't shorten it.

frazzledoldbag34 Fri 01-Aug-08 21:21:37

Bruna?
Oh no. That's along the lines of Malcolmina and the likes. Scary.
Also sounds Butch.

QueenBhannae Fri 01-Aug-08 21:27:27

Ah yes, I wouldn't shorten it but he keeps getting Bru! I just wondered what everyone else outside my immediate family would shorten it to.
Up here bru means a drink of tea! lol

Yes there are many dogs called Bruno and quite a few called Rachel and Paula shock

Ted--> Teddy bear--> Bruno Bear--> Bruno (clutching at straws maybe? grin)

frazzled - she's Brazilian, apparently it's quite common there. Not a name I'd choose (but then neither is Bruno) but as is so often the case, she makes it work
