Holly maybe grin

Is this a big no-no?

Maybe middle name?

differentID Sat 26-Jul-08 15:27:14

Is this the prospective Lydia?

pooka Sat 26-Jul-08 15:27:53

My mother was born on boxing day and has Noelle as a middle name. Maybe middle name would be good, if you want to? Unless you love the name holly.

pooka Sat 26-Jul-08 15:28:34

Lydia Noelle?

DisenchantedPlusBump Sat 26-Jul-08 15:29:02

Lydia is just a name I like, nothings definate.

In fact DH really doesn't like it so I think Im back to the drawing board

Its fecking stressfull!

Noelle is lovely!

missmollymoo Sat 26-Jul-08 15:29:24

I think using a name just cos lo born at xmas is naff.

pooka Sat 26-Jul-08 15:29:28

But then if she was telling someone on the phone her name, would sound a little like "Lydia, no-L" i.e. ydia?

DisenchantedPlusBump Sat 26-Jul-08 15:30:38

PMSL pooka, it would!!

That really made me laugh!

pooka Sat 26-Jul-08 15:30:50

I rather like Noelle too.
But I think the main thing is that it should be a name that you really like, and if it's seasonally appropriate, then fine. As a middle name you can get away with much more.

snooks Sat 26-Jul-08 15:31:22

I love Christy (for any time of the year), dh doesn't though...

pooka Sat 26-Jul-08 15:31:38

Unless your dh would be mre keen on "Ydia". Is unusual, granted. grin

DisenchantedPlusBump Sat 26-Jul-08 15:31:53

Chrissy Mas ?

and our surname...Sales

Chrissy Mas Sales.

expatinscotland Sat 26-Jul-08 15:32:13

One of my work colleagues was born on Xmas Day and he was called Noel. He hated it.

QuintessentialShadows Sat 26-Jul-08 15:32:53

And from Pookas funny post, I sugest : Belle Noelle

DisenchantedPlusBump Sat 26-Jul-08 15:32:58

Dh Said if she is overdue we should call her January Sales.

QuintessentialShadows Sat 26-Jul-08 15:34:20

I am liking your dh. Three fortwo

DisenchantedPlusBump Sat 26-Jul-08 15:37:49

I know... the possibilities if we were cruel!

Dh said he used to get ''firstname' Sales the seven seas'

Stupid kids, its not even the right kind of Sales ... all that scope for name calling and they missed it.

Her birthday will be overshadowed by Christmas every year. I wouldn't give her an every day reminder. Pick a name you like

differentID Sat 26-Jul-08 16:05:32

Natalia is beautiful, very appropriate and yet the meaning isn't obviously going to link her birth to xmas.

DisenchantedPlusBump Sat 26-Jul-08 16:06:35

We have a Natalia already int he family.

I think ill just stick to any names, its hard enough as it is without christmassy limitations!

hollyandnoah Sat 26-Jul-08 16:13:32

My name's Holly, but i was born in July lol.

I love Noelle.

Two of my friends, they are twins, were born just after christmas, they are called Caroline and Angela.
Caroline because of Christmas carols, and Angela because of the Angel Gabriel/angel on the top of tree.

BUT nothing wrong with Holly i say!

JulesJules Sat 26-Jul-08 16:33:16

Natalie, Natalia, Holly... Jesus...<voice trails off...>

rolymoma Sat 26-Jul-08 16:37:24

my dd was due xmas day (in the end a few days late) but id settled on clementine as i thought it was quite a christmassy fruit - i still chose it even tho not the big day itself

hollyandnoah Sat 26-Jul-08 16:49:52

lol it could be so much worse Jules.
