I'm due in the next couple of days and starting to panic about names. We already have an Amelia.

What do you think of these?

Olivia
Eva
Rosie
Imogen
Eleanor
Abigail
Hannah

If we don't go for Rosie the middle name will be Rose. If we go for Rosie the middle name will be one of the others!

Would really appreciate some feed-back or any alternatives!

Thanks!

Eleanor Rose is lovely.

nickytwotimes Tue 22-Jul-08 19:34:52

Fwiw, they are all lovely names.
Not a duffer amongst them!

pootleflump Tue 22-Jul-08 19:34:55

All nice names, my faves from your list are Imogen and Olivia. Imogen might go better with Amelia though. Good luck!

i know someone who has an amelia and olivia. they are both gorgeous happy, content little girls so that gets my vote.

thirtysomething Tue 22-Jul-08 19:35:21

Eva or Hannah get my vote, reasonably popular but not too popular. Good luck with everything!

I think Olivia is too similar sounding to Amelia, so I eprsonally wouldn't go for that.

Abigail will give her the same initials as Amelia which may be confusing when the post comes?

I love hannah and Rosie and think they're good classic names but suit all personalities and all levels of 'funk'.

I personally would go for Hannah Rosie, rather than Hannah Rose.

Olivia is too similar to Amelia.

Eva is boring.

Rosie - I don't like abbreviations. Rosamund? Rosemary?

Imogen - don't like.

Eleanor - very pretty and goes well with Amelia.

Abigail - not a "pretty" name so a bit unfair on the child whose sister has a "pretty" name>

Hannah - much prefer Anna, but Anna and Amelia is too much of a mouthful.

I think Amelia Rose sounds lovelygrin

Good luck

Agree that Olvia is too similar to Amelia and Eva for some reason doesn't sound quite right either.

I think Imogen & Hannah go very well with Amelia, they have similar provenance. I love Eleanor but if you shortened the names would you be bothered by having a Millie and an Ellie?

Heated Tue 22-Jul-08 19:49:23

Olivia not Olvia!

sallycinamon Tue 22-Jul-08 20:29:05

Thanks for the feed-back everyone!

Going to get dh to read it!

Interesting thought about Abigail not being a 'pretty' name, Anna. I think I know what you mean. It is actually a name that has only become a possibility in the last few weeks.

Olivia is out of the running as dh doesn't like it and I take the point that it is too similar to Amelia.

Don't mind Eleanor being Ellie as our Amelia has never been a Millie.

janeite Tue 22-Jul-08 20:32:17

They are lovely names. I like Elinor better than Eleanor but it is a very pretty name either way.

cthea Tue 22-Jul-08 20:32:59

I think they are all pretty and you can't really go wrong with any of them.

bluenosesaint Tue 22-Jul-08 20:46:48

What a beautiful set of names smile

Olivia - Lovely name and i actually think it goes really well with Amelia ...not that it would matter if it didn't
Eva - Quite a 'hard' sounding name, but classic and beautiful.
Rosie - Very cute
Imogen - Lovely name probably my favourite from your list.
Eleanor - This is my least favourite but still nice
Abigail - Agree with others who said its not the 'prettiest' of names. Abbie, however, is very very pretty.
Hannah - Again a beautiful name.

You can't go wrong grin

Hulababy Tue 22-Jul-08 20:47:35

Olivia - nice name, but too similar to Amelia. DD's middle name so biased. It is rather popular round here though, if that bothers you.

Eva - pretty name though I personally prefer Evie

Rosie - again nice. Think I'd go for Rose though, and then Rosie as nickname

Imogen - not so keen

Eleanor - not so keen, but I do like Ellie, which could be usd on it's own too

Abigail - hmm, I find this quite a harsh name, but it's ok. I like Abbie.

Hannah - pretty name. My neice is Hannah Rose and it is lovely

FluffyWuffy Wed 23-Jul-08 10:36:26

I like all of them, especially Imogen. I wanted to call my new baby girl Imogen but my partner wouldn't let me (typical grin). We also thought about Hannah but to be honest there are lots of them these days, but obviously if it's a middle name then it doesn't matter smile

CantSleepWontSleep Wed 23-Jul-08 17:22:23

Imogen or Hannah.

MonkeyMargot Wed 23-Jul-08 17:27:56

Imogen - love it, and not as popular as some of the others on your list.

jellybeans Wed 23-Jul-08 17:30:48

Olivia....NICE
Eva....LOVE IT
Rosie...DISLIKE
Imogen....NICE
Eleanor.....DISLIKE
Abigail.....DISLIKE ANYTHING WITH GAIL IN
Hannah.....DISLIKE

Elkat Wed 23-Jul-08 20:21:54

Olivia....Nice, I like this although it is very popular at the mo.
Eva....Same as above
Rosie...Not keen I'm afraid... too cutsey on a grown woman, not a 'mature' name iykwim!
Imogen....Yes, I like this - pretty and goes well with amelia.
Eleanor.....Like, but again is very popular and would be likely to be an ellie, which may be a bit to similar to Millie should your DD1 choose to call herself that in the future. May get confusing.
Abigail.....I like Abi, but not abigail for some reason, but feel that abi is not enough of a name in its own right iyswim
Hannah.....Okay, although not a very pretty or exciting name iyswim!

Some really nice options on there though.

i like eva it's very pretty xx

wessexgirl Fri 25-Jul-08 14:40:26

I like them all, but Eleanor Rose would win my vote.
