my middle name is Rosalind, and I don't mind it as that, but I would have hated to be call Roz, which would have happened as a first name

I like Rosalind, with Rosa as the shortened version (rather than Roz)

I don't like Roz

I love Sarah

Love Rosalind! Try for Rosa/Rosie/Lindy as a nickname instead of Roz though.
Sarah is a nice name, just I know a lot of them so doesn't sound as special

Sarah is beautiful

Rosalind is one of those feminine strong names that I really like. I think Sarah is a bit 80s even though I know it isnt.

Rosalind has many potential nns. Sarah has none.

Neither.

Prefer Zara or Roslyn.

Rosalind or Rosemary. There are so many Sarahs in the world.

Sarah

Rosalind will end up Rosie, and there are too many of them. Sarah is elegant and unusual right now.

Rosalind, 100%.

Rosalind Sarah is lovely.

Sarah! I love it. Not popular with babies today.

Rosalind is great - beautiful, elegant yet strong.

Sarah is just a bit plain.

Love Rosalind - very elegant, Shakespearean, with a great namesake in Scientist Franklin. Sadly I hate the sound of the nn Roz, so I don't know if I could risk it personally (the few I've met have all been known as Roz rather than the full version). But if you don't mind that nn, then I'd go for it!

Sarah is very pretty and so classic. But you may need to consider whether your DD could think it's more a "Mum" name or not (because it was so hugely popular in the 70's, 80's and even into the early 90's that there will likely be quite a few Sarah's at the school gates).

Sarah, love it and think it’s very classic. Still a lot of teenage Sarahs in Ireland so not a dated name to me at all.

Rosalind is lovely too, but might lend itself to nicknames too easily - whether that’s a good or bad thing, personal choice.

I'd go for Rosamund nn Rose.
Sorry, not helpful (Downton fan Smile)

But seriously, Sarah is nicer than Rosalind.
And Rosamund nicer than Rosalind.
Go for Rose Smile

Rosalind. I had a school friend called this and she never shortened it - nicknames aren’t inevitable. It’s a beautiful name.

I don’t get the love for Sarah, personally. Probably because I know too many, so it just seems like the ultimate boring name.

I like pretty much all Rose names except Rosalind. Rosa is much nicer!

Sarah is a little dull, agree with a PP about Zara, or Sarai?

Report
RoseHarper · 12/06/2021 08:57

Sarah is beautiful, as is Rosalind but I dont like Roz which is inevitable as a nn.

Sarah Rosalind go well together!
I used Rosalind as a middle name for one of my dds. I think it's a lovely name, but not fond of Roz. Rosa is lovely though. I was tempted to use that as a first name. I like Sarah. I don't think there are too many baby Sarahs around at the moment.

I really like Sarah. It would make a refreshing change these days to hear of a baby Sarah.
