Hi ladies.. we’re expecting our second daughter this summer, but can’t really decide between Isabella or Emilia!
Surname is one syllabus and begins with B.
My first daughter called Ayla (pronounced Eye-luh) where we live in the U.K.

I wouldn't go with an I name, as I'd wonder if someone might mistake Ayla for Isla and write to Miss I. B... and she'd get the wrong post!

So, I'd vote Emilia Smile

Isabella, she will might called Bella as a nickname, are you ok with that?

Emilia, she will have to repeat it all the time and spell it, as people will assume it's Amelia.

I prefer Isabella personally, and love Bella.

I think Ayla and Isabella are too similar, even if you intended Bella as a nn, it may well turn into Issy/Izzie at school.

I think Emilia is now more popular than Amelia so I don’t think you need to worry about people mistaking it - so I’d go for that

I like both names but I'm the opposite of pp, sorry - I think the Amelia/Emilia confusion could be really annoying (and Amelia is still much more popular in most areas, so that will be the default).

I'd choose Isabella - everyone knows how to spell it and Izzy or Belle works well with Ayla (Bella is a bit samey, but not the end of the world).

I think Emilia is the one to go for because of the unusual spelling like Ayla. So they have that in common aha

Thanks for all your responds. They’ve been a great help ❤️ I think we go for Emilia then!!
Just FYI- Ayla is completely a different name to Isla, and it’s not just an alternative spelling of it. It’s a Turkish name, and has a different meaning to Isla. It is spelled that way in Turkish and number of European countries, but It’s pronounced like Isla.
So yes , totally agree with the last commenter. it’s less common, so is Emilia compared to Isabella/Amelia!
Thanks everyone ❤️

Grace gets overlooked as a middle name, though it’s lovely as a first name. Don’t you want a Turkish middle name? I assume you have Turkish links.

Its nice, thank you. But no we don’t have Turkish link, just British.
What other middle names goes well with Emilia ? apart from Grace, Rae, Mae and Rose.
