What is people’s opinions on the name Luke. I go back and forth on whether to use this name or not. Some days I love it and other days I feel it’s a bit of a middle aged man name.

I like the fact that it’s underused so future DS will be the only person in his class with that name (hopefully).

It’s a great name - a timeless classic.

I love it. Timeless!

KittenCalledBob Sun 22-Nov-20 16:36:25

Love it.

I love it. Probably my favourite boy name and my friend who’s really fun and good looking is a Luke so I like it for that reason too.

My son is called Luke, and he's the only one in his school.

We actually struggle to find his name on things in gift stores now, Lucas and Luca is more popular.

We obviously love it, and I'm glad he has a more traditional name, but also that there are 3 of the same named in his class so to speak

I have a Luke, daddy got to pick child no 2's name and I hated it. He's now 6 and I'm ok with it but I do tend to call him Lukey, won't get away with that for much longer smile

I love it, but we used it as a middle name as I was a bit concerned about the look/Luke confusion.

Everlastingyes Sun 22-Nov-20 20:56:05

It’s not an awful name but boring. It’s like a name that you think of off the top your head for a boy like Jack or Harry. It’s fine but not a lovely name.

formerbabe Sun 22-Nov-20 20:56:56

Really nice

Redannie118 Sun 22-Nov-20 21:01:02

My DS name. I love it. Hes a young adult now and all the way through school( and now uni) hes the only one.

TotalBitch Sun 22-Nov-20 21:05:57

I like it smile. Inoffensive, simple sort of name. If you're back and forth on it though, it may not be the one?

Firebird83 Sun 22-Nov-20 22:25:29

I like it. It’s very handsome.

SadWife2020 Sun 22-Nov-20 23:46:15

I like it but did know one known as Luke the puke...

BackforGood Sun 22-Nov-20 23:50:11

I like it.
Not really associated with any particular generation so doesn't really date.
Everyone will know how to pronounce it if they see it written, and how to spell it if they hear it said.
Lovely choice

IamnotwhouthinkIam Sun 22-Nov-20 23:50:27

It's fine, a classic biblical name that shouldn't date. And it has cool associations Luke Skywalker, Cool Hand Luke etc. I just personally slightly prefer the sound of Lucas or fellow one syllable classics (to Luke) Hugh, John and James.

Mrstwiddle Sun 22-Nov-20 23:51:30

All the Luke’s I’ve taught have been lovely, never met a bad one yet!

DramaAlpaca Sun 22-Nov-20 23:59:45

Nice name. I know two in their 20s but no younger ones.

GuiltyPleasure Mon 23-Nov-20 00:24:10

Slightly biased as my youngest DS is a Luke. IMO its one of those names that is fairly classic & stands the test of time, without being either too trendy or too old fashioned.

MimiDaisy11 Mon 23-Nov-20 08:09:13

I like it. The only bad thing is that "look" is a fairly common word and so during awkward teenage years he might be paranoid everyone's talking about him lol

YoniAndGuy Mon 23-Nov-20 12:16:53

Not a fan - it's dull, and I've only ever known twatty ones!

Lol my Luke had reflux as a baby and we called him Luke the puke for about 2 years! blush

EasyPeasyHappyCheesy Tue 24-Nov-20 07:40:29

I like it. My toddlers name. The only annoying thing is that when you swipe write it keeps changing to like and takes some time for the auto correct to realise. Minor thing.
