What do you think?
I'm thinking Bronte sounding.
For a boy.
Thoughts welcome 🙂

Not a fan, probably because in Scotland there is an east and west Linton so just makes me think of that.

What about Lyndon?

Grumpy19 Sun 22-Nov-20 15:20:01

Hmm, not a fan of Lyndon as I know one who is a bit of a drunk!

It's a village in Cambridgeshire. I don't like it at all the name that is not the place, they have a zoo though.

FelicityPike Sun 22-Nov-20 15:20:39

Lynton is a nicer way to spell it.

ShitXmasCracker Sun 22-Nov-20 15:22:51

Not nice. Makes me think of lint.

Lyndon slightly better.

Tolleshunt Sun 22-Nov-20 15:23:03

It has unhappy connotations for me because of Wuthering Heights.

TeaAndHobnob Sun 22-Nov-20 15:23:07

Are you a fan of Linton Kwesi Johnson OP?

user1493494961 Sun 22-Nov-20 15:23:58

It's a surname.

Grumpy19 Sun 22-Nov-20 15:25:43

Ok. It's looking like a no so far.

As long as the middle names are Travel and Tavern...

rooarsome Sun 22-Nov-20 15:29:31

I also associate it with Edgar Linton from Wuthering Heights

MaltedMilk88 Sun 22-Nov-20 15:29:34

Not for me but if you like it that's all that really matters

TotalBitch Sun 22-Nov-20 15:29:50

Not keen... I know a Lincoln, which again, isn't to my taste, but you might like. There is also the Irish name Finton?

Squiffany Sun 22-Nov-20 15:30:33

Linton-on-Ouse is a village in Yorkshire. Makes me think of that.

icedaisy Sun 22-Nov-20 15:35:15

Village in Scottish Borders to me

BurningEars Sun 22-Nov-20 15:37:41

I don’t like it.

BurningEars Sun 22-Nov-20 15:37:59

What about Clinton?

joybrightnice Sun 22-Nov-20 15:39:38

It's a village near me so no and reminds me of lint.

BowiesJumper Sun 22-Nov-20 15:49:32

Travel tavern...

TheMarzipanDildo Sun 22-Nov-20 15:52:22

Linton has fairly unfortunate connotations in Wuthering Heights doesn’t it? I mean all of the characters are dodgy in that book.

melisande99 Sun 22-Nov-20 15:52:24

It's the wimp from Wuthering Heights, isn't it? Isabella and Heathcliif's snivelling, selfish son?

ShouldHaveCouldHaveWouldHave Sun 22-Nov-20 16:20:14

There’s a Lynton in my family, I like it.

AlexaShutUp Sun 22-Nov-20 16:22:19

Sorry, I think of Lynton Crosby, which is not a positive association.

Grumpy19 Sun 22-Nov-20 16:23:54

Ok. Thanks. Back to the drawing board! 🤣
