I’m expecting a looker girl
In October and still don’t know what to name herConfusedi Have 4 boys JJ,Lachlan,Milo and Easton aswell as our girl Indie. I found it really hard to name indie last time as well boy names were always more appealing to me.
I am thinking of maybe going for an Irish name seeing as I am originally from there and my DH has significant ancestry there as well. Help plsBlush

My little girl is called Erin, which means Ireland and the main reason I called her that as we have a lot of Irish family. I also love the name Roisin, absolutely love irish names although in my accent it doesn't sound as good Grin

Hi,

If you thinking of Irish names how about...

JJ, Lachlan, Milo, Easton, Indie & Aoife?
JJ, Lachlan, Milo, Easton, Indie & Eimear?
JJ, Lachlan, Milo, Easton, Indie & Orla?

I do like the PP suggestion of Erin that goes nicely too x

How about...Nuala, Mairead or Cara?

I love Aoife, but not sure how well it's known in England.

Names like Erin and Orla may be easier?

Currently thinking of saoirse but would that be too difficult for people in the U.K. to understand?
That’s what’s put me off naming my other children Irish names that I love but maybe as this is my last I am thinking about this name?
Thoughts?

Don't feel too bad about not knowing OP, I'm due in August and haven't decided on names for sure yet. Orla is very pretty for an Irish name

JJ, Lachlan, Milo, Easton, Indie and Saoirse would be very nice.
The actress Saoirse Ronan (who mispronounces her name, btw) has made Saoirse recognisable.
It's pronounced Sare-sha or Seer-sha, not to rhyme with 'inertia' unless you say inertia in a Dublin accent ('in-air-sha').

Suggestions:
JJ, Lachlan, Milo, Easton, Indie and Maeve
JJ, Lachlan, Milo, Easton, Indie and Finola
JJ, Lachlan, Milo, Easton, Indie and Niamh
JJ, Lachlan, Milo, Easton, Indie and Ashling
JJ, Lachlan, Milo, Easton, Indie and Alvy (an anglicisation of Ailbhe)
JJ, Lachlan, Milo, Easton, Indie and Nessa
JJ, Lachlan, Milo, Easton, Indie and Eithne (pronounced Enya)

Agree that Saoirse is a lot easier for people in England to get the hang of, since Saoirse Ronan came on the scene. I pronounce Saoirse, See-r-sha.

I know, in England, little girls with the following names:

Aoife
Clodagh
Balthnaid
Ciara

No pronunciation issues, except Blathnaid, whose mum had a few issues at baby clinics etc.

I also love Roise, Sorcha and Ailis, which can also be spelt Ailish I think.

I love all of these^^ and also love Saoirse Smile. Love that Saoirse means freedom as well.

I think Erin goes the best with your other names which are great by the way.

People get used to the names. I have a 16 year old Aoife and mostly we get very positive comments on her name. Some can pronounce it ok and others struggle. We simply correct and people are OK w this

Congratulations, I’ve always loved the name Esme alongside Indie.
I personally prefer the name Esme, spoken with an E sound at the end rather than an A sound but both are lovely
Good luck 😊
