I really dislike the way Margaux looks but it sounds fine.

Margaux is fine as long as you're French, otherwise I'd go for the more standard Margot spelling.

HappyDinosaur Tue 30-Jun-20 12:00:19

Olivia is quite popular, but the combination is still lovely.

abigailwendover Tue 30-Jun-20 12:00:42

Love the name Olive but agree with the others re spelling of Margaux - prefer Margot

abigailwendover Tue 30-Jun-20 12:01:31

Oh sorry I misread Olivia as Olive! Olivia is ok but very very overused IMO - Olive Margot is a beautiful name!

AdelaideK Tue 30-Jun-20 12:03:25

Olivia is very very common. This may not bother you which is fine. It's a nice name.

I prefer Margot spelled like this and I'd go for Margot Olivia.

Limpid Tue 30-Jun-20 12:03:27

Margaux is horrible -- Olivia Margot is fine.

Babyroobs Tue 30-Jun-20 12:04:55

Olivia is lovely but I don't like Margaux.

Itsjustabitofbanter Tue 30-Jun-20 12:10:13

There’s 3 Olivias in my daughters class. And there’s a new girl starting next year, named Olivia grin

CuppaZa Tue 30-Jun-20 12:10:57

Not keen on either

LotusClover Tue 30-Jun-20 12:39:03

I really dislike Margot and Margaux but Olivia is lovely.

Whatsyourflava Tue 30-Jun-20 13:18:16

Love Olivia

MikeUniformMike Tue 30-Jun-20 13:32:29

Olivia is so overused that it is a bit meh. Margaux is an ugly spelling of a not particularly nice name.

Sunnydayshereatlast Tue 30-Jun-20 13:35:10

Hoping your surname doesn't start with G...

Spied Tue 30-Jun-20 13:35:16

Really dislike Margaux however it's spelt.
Any other mn would be an improvement imo.

Olivia is nice.

mamablondie2 Tue 30-Jun-20 15:34:02

Olivia is so overused, but if that doesn’t bother you then yeah it’s nice enough. I feel like it’s the kind of name that isn’t really going to get a strong reaction either way though tbh.

HalfBloodPrincess Tue 30-Jun-20 16:03:14

Its lovely OP.

AdaColeman Tue 30-Jun-20 16:19:01

Olivia is pretty, but already very popular.
I don't like Margaux, and I'm not keen on Margot. What about Marguerite which has a similar meaning?

FizzyGreenWater Tue 30-Jun-20 16:52:43

Both perfectly nice names but Olivia is so overused, sorry - I wouldn't choose it.

I love Margot and Margaux too, know a couple spelled like this.

Anna Margaux or Anna Marguerite would be a good example of trying to get away from Olivia to a 'similar' kind of name which isn't so madly common.

daisypond Tue 30-Jun-20 17:57:24

I like both Olivia and Margot - that spelling. They go well together.

DramaAlpaca Tue 30-Jun-20 19:35:24

I like Olivia. I don't like Margot myself, but it does flow nicely with Olivia. I'd use the Margot spelling as Margaux is a wine.

bridgetreilly Tue 30-Jun-20 21:33:44

Olivia Margot or Olivia Marguerite would be my preference.

pilates Tue 30-Jun-20 22:21:14

Dislike Margaux, prefer Margot and Olivia is very nice

pandar Tue 30-Jun-20 22:31:15

I love it. Does Margeux have significance for you? Even if it doesn't i still love it, just curious as it's different. X xx
