Eden or Shay for our baby girl

Hi everyone, my boyfriend and I are really struggling picking a name for our daughter who is due in September. My boyfriend has his heart set on the name Shay but I love the name Eden. If we choose shay the middle name will be either Olivia Talia or Alexia. If we choose the name eden the middle name will be Renée. The surname is Smith. What do you guys think.. Shay smith or Eden Smith?? Just thinking to think if the names will age well too.

I don't like Shay at all. I would have assumed it to be a boys name. I do like Eden though so that would be my choice.

Not Shay.

Shay is horrific.

I have an Eden and get nothing but compliments ☺️

Eden isn't my cup of tea but it's a billion times better than Shay.

I also thought Shay was a boy's name. Eden is pretty.

Definitely not Shay. And Shay Smith is awkward. Eden is fine.

Funnily enough I was also debating Shae as a middle name after my grandad Seamus too ☺️

Shay is a boys name in Ireland, short for Seamus, very popular.

The only Eden I know is a boy.

Don't like Shay sorry.

I know a shay and an Eden. Both boys

Eden is lovely. Really not keen on Shay. It's the opposite end of the spectrum to Eden.

I love Shay but it's a boy's name (imo)

Eden is fine.

Everyone will have an opinion but in response to your question use Shay as Eden is on the rise and I want my DD to stay relatively unique 😂

They're both boys names in my mind, Shay definitely so Confused

I know a Shaya - it’s a nice name I think. I would avoid Shay, makes me think Shae (pronounces the same) as in the prostitute in GOT - she didn’t meet a good end.

I only know boys with these names.

I much prefer Eden. I know lots of Shae, Shea and Shays... all very badly behaved boys.

I only know boys called shay though in this day and age who cares about that!

Eden is lovely.

My DS is called Shay. Really sad that people think it's horrific and associate it with bold boys but I still really like it. (I wonder if it's more acceptable as my DS is Irish?)

I'd consider Eden to be a girl's name and I think it's quite pretty.

Shay sounds like Shae, who is a prostitute in Game of Thrones who ends up murdered.

Eden is much better.

I know two Edens, one boy and one girl. I definitely think of it more as a feminine name though. Shay on the other hand I think is very masculine (and not a name that I particularly like either).

Eden 100% gets my vote.

I'd think Shay was a boy, maybe short for Seamus.
Eden is chavvy. Edie isn't, but I'm not keen.

Alexia is a condition.

Shay is unfortunately the name of a great many teenage boys whose photos appear on the walls of police stations. I’d assume a girl named Shay would probably be doomed to a similar fate. Sorry, I know that sounds horrible. Eden is not to my taste, but it is much better, and I do think that Eden Renée sounds rather good.
