Really love the name name Emmeline however surname if Green, and think there's too much eeee sound, would you go for Emmeline Green or
Emily Green

I think your right, it just doesn't sound right. I'd either go for Emily or use it has a mn and search for a different fan.

Emily Green is beautiful. Whereas I like the name Emmeline I don't think it goes with the surname too well

Yes, Emmeline Green sounds wrong whereas Emily Green is fine. I actually much prefer Emily over Emmeline anyway - it's simple yet beautiful.

Emily Green is gorgeous
I don't like Emmeline - too frilly and reminds me of Invisalign braces

I prefer Emmeline. Both remind me of friends though 🙈

I prefer Emma. Emily is ok. I don't like Emmeline.

Not Emma then. Emily goes better with the surname.

Prefer emmeline but it doesn't go with your surname so Emily

Emily better with your surname.

Such a shame as Emmeline is a lovely name, but I think you're right to have second thoughts on account of how it goes with your surname. Emily is very popular, though I think most Emilys are older. Eg my boss is Emily & she's 30.

Emily for me.

The Emmelines I know are nearing 30. It seems a little dated in style now, that flouncy Victoriana. But I find Emily a bit dreary, I’m afraid. It goes better with your surname, though.

Emily is vastly better and goes much better with your surname.

Emmeline is a beautiful name, but sadly it doesn't go with Green. Emily Green sounds great though. 🙂

Emmeline Green is a bit of a mouthful.
Emily sounds better.
Would Amelia or Millie work for you?

Report
Edenember · 25/06/2020 10:00

@Postcard2020 much prefer Emmeline but it doesn’t work with the surname. The popularity of Emily would put me off but if it doesn’t you then go for it, it sounds good with the surname. Emilia is another possibility.

Thankyou for your replys so far, it is a shame Emmeline doesn't go well with my surname, I do like Amelia/Emilia also however both thoses names seem to be very popular where I live, along with Evie Isla, Isabella ect, surprising no Emily's considering it's high up in the charts. X

I have to agree with Emily being dreary, but Emmeline Green has to many ‘ee’ sounds in it. Emilia is lovely.
