Baby boy names shortlist possibly!

Have 2 girls and expecting a baby boy in a few weeks. We have narrowed it down to..

Lachlan
Joel
Alastair
Julian

I think lachlan and Joel are our top ones.
What do you mums think and has anyone got other suggestions? We are finding naming a boy not quite as easy as our girls! Me and hubby like different names that we don't agree on!

Thank you!

I like Julian. Is your surname short or long?

I think Julian is ready for a comeback. As long as you won't mind his mates shortening it to Jules. He's much more likely to be the only one in his class / group with that name than Joel which is fairly popular.

I like Joel though.
Alistair is okay.

Really don't warm to Lachlan - maybe you have to be Gaelic ?

I like them all except Lachlan which makes me think of a newspaper magnate for some reason

I like them all except Julian. Lachlan or Alistair work best next to girls' names but I do like Joel too.

Lachlan and Julian are my favourites from your list.

I like Julian and Joel best. All your names work with your girls' names. Since both girls have an "an" sound in their names, Julian and Lachlan work best.

I don’t think the OP is looking for popular names.

Lachlan and Alastair are lovely.

Never been keen on Julian, sounds a bit wet, and I've always hated Joel.

Great names apart from Julian which to me is always the eldest of the famous five.

I like Joel best. Julian reminds me of the kids film Madagascar.

Joel! I often suggest it on here. Lovely name!!
Or Joseph shortened to joe if you were looking for a longer name.

In its day Julian was nice, but not so sure about now. Alastair is a name I like but seems a bit stuffy. On that basis one of the other two are better, but I would go for Joseph if I leant towards Julian/Joel. With names I think some of it is about everyday reality, not just what takes ones fancy iyswim.

I only like Alistair on your list and I also think it goes best with your girls names :)

I'd go for Alastair
