Is that from marmalade Atkins? Or am I old?!

I quite like it but it’s a hell of a name to carry off. I can’t imagine being a corporate lawyer and introducing myself with that name.

What would the shortening be?
Marm? Mam? Lad?

Definitely a brave choice.

Does anyone else hear names and wish they were choosing again? I loved the constant searching and considering of names.

I like it. I think Marmalade would be shortened to either Marm, Marmy or Ladey.

Where I live, probably Lades. I prefer Marmalade to the nicknames! I loved the name Dolly...DH wouldn't have it and now that DD is an edgy 15 year old she's fuming he wouldn;t allow it!

But don't listen to me...I also like Bunty!

@BillHadersNewWife does she ever think about changing her name to Dolly then? Is it her middle name?

I kind of like it but you'd need a strong character to successfully pull it off!

I heard that and my first thought was 'Atkins'.

I heard that too, and I'm also old enough to remember marmalade Atkins, do you remember how she got her name?
Her mum wanted to call her Clementine but when her dad went to register her he could only remember it was something to do with oranges so he called her marmalade

Marmalade was the name of my first teddy bear. Shortened to Marmie.
