Soooo we need girls names that are either farsi origin/Arab Origins that also sound very western. We have a Zara and we are sort of keen on Jasmine but my mum has put me off it a little!

Any suggestions?

In my mind I have

Jasmine
Sofia
?Blush

Oh yes but my brother has a Sophia (we are not close and never met his children but still, may be stepping the line slightly with Sofia lol)

^Origin of the name Leila:
Derived from the Arabic leila (night, dark beauty) or the Persian leila (dark-haired). Its use in England began with George Byon's poem "The Giaour" (1813).^

Rosa - the word "rose" derives ultimately from Persian, I think.

Definitely Leila.
Or Ayesha.

If you’re willing to consider Mariam, would you consider Amira? I knew one and no one seemed to have too much trouble with her name.

I like Sufia instead of Sophia. Zeyna (usually Zeynap). Raya (from Soraya)
