DH really likes Anne but I’m not entirely convinced.
I don’t like Annie or Anna for sure but Anne is one I’m on the fence about.
Any thoughts?

Personally I think it's awful, especially on a little baby! Really dull.

It’s nice, but I do prefer Anna.

I really like Ann, without the e as a first name. I also like Annie and Anna.
How about Antonia as a name?

I think it's due a comeback same way Ruth is. I don't mind it

I like it, lots of great historical / literary Annes eg Queen Anne, Boleyn, of Cleves, of Green Gables, Hathaway... Could also consider Annabel though a bit yuppie and not a classic like Anne

Oh please no, definitely not due a comeback, Anna, Annabel are much nicer.

Nice name. The queen liked it.

I love it. Anne of Austria is who I immediately think of. Always with an E for
me.

I love Annie

Or Anna, Anya, Annabelle, Anais

Agree with pp, very dull and plain, use as a middle name.

I like it. I am so bored of all the frilly names so beloved of many on this site, frilly and desperately aspirational, like the preposterous Ottilie.

Noooooooo it's not and Ruth is just as awful. It's my middle name a truly terrible.
Both bland and dull and frumpy

Awesome name … with or without the e.

Anais? Aurelia? Antonia?

I think it's too blunt somehow, like i find it quite hard to finish the word with 'n' sound . Prefer Anna or Annie, love Anya.

Beautiful timeless name. It’s a family name for me, it was Granny’s name, I have an auntie Anne and my sister is Anne. I’m gutted that none of my nieces and nephews are Anne, and I only had boys.
Do it!

I love the name something different for the time.

I really love it and agree with @midsomermurderess there’s SO MANY frilly names now I find my head in a jumble (I actually love Ottilie though 🙈)

Love it! A real refreshing change from a lot of the more frilly names out there. Go for it!
