My husband came to me and said he loves the name Pepper and I do actually really like it!

What do you think?

I'm guessing everyone's going to say noGrin

I would immediately think Peppa Pig too - sorry

Pepper is a character in American Horror Story

@Bunnylady54 I thought that too but I don't think it bothers me!

Not a fan.

I think 'Pig', 'Potts' and then 'bully from Annie'.

What about Piper?
I couldn't look past the pig

Report
VivaLeBeaver · 13/01/2020 14:32

Pippa or piper not pepper

mildlymiffed · 13/01/2020 14:32

Just to err on the conventional- how about Pippa (in its own right or as a nn for Philippa?). I think the association between Pepper and pig may lead to unwanted teasing by other kids...

I had a friend called Pepper when I was little I love it!
Yeah ok there's Peppa Pig but people still use Minnie (mouse) Elsa, Thomas (tank engine) Rory (racing car ) etc etc so what's the difference?

Report
legalseagull · 13/01/2020 14:36

The difference is that 'pepper' isn't a name. It's a condiment.

Good Omens That is all.

Report
VivaLeBeaver · 13/01/2020 14:44

I don't think pepper's real name was pepper in good omens was it? Seem to remember it was a nickname.... Or was that wensleydale? Good omens isn't the barometer of sensible names. Grin

Ah yes, she was officially Pippin. Named for LOTR.

Pigs and dogs sorry.

I knew a cat called Pepper. It’s a bit ridiculous on a human tbh. Sorry.

Report
FairytaleofBykerGrove · 13/01/2020 14:49

@legalseagull I completely disagree with you. Pepper is a seasoning, not a condiment.

Report
Thesearmsofmine · 13/01/2020 14:49

I would use it for a pet but not a child. Pippa is lovely.

I think it's a bit of a 'marmite' name (No, that's not another name suggestion!).
You either love it or hate it. Personally, I'm the latter - I would call a dog or cat it but not a baby.
But at the end of the day, it's your choice Smile

Sorry, that made me lol 🤣

I'm not a fan to be honest OP, but it's not the worst name I've ever heard. I much prefer Piper
