(25 Posts)Our first son is called Noah Henry Ying xxxxx. Our surname is single syllable, beginning with F. My wife has asked me to make the final decision on our next boys name. Together we have got it down to this shortlist for first names. We are willing to go a little bit out there with first and middle names. The third name will be a Chinese name as my wife is Chinese.
Morgan
Caden
Everett
Jacob
Atlas
Ares
Caspian
Orlando
Kingsley
Any and all thoughts very welcome!
Nicholas Christian
Nathan Tyler Jordan
Jonah Dylan Jackson
Isaac Liam Zach
Luke Ezekiel rufus Zachariah and Zacharias Lucas Justin
Hugo, jasper, felix, rupert, otto,
All as 1st names, I should have said
Of your list, I think I’d use Jacob which is lovely but Kingsley is pretty cool if you’re brave enough!
Atlas and Caspian are my favourites
From your list I think Everett, Jacob, Caspian and Kingsley are the best. I do prefer Caspar over Caspian though.
I really like Kingsley but Jacob does go nicely with Noah. Jonah is a really good suggestion (but I'm biased because I have a Jonah!)
I'm ruling out Jonah, Isaac, Theo and Charlie despite being quality names as they are all taken by cousins children.
Morgan Cassian (Cassion rather than Caspian).
Morgan - cool
Caden - like it
Everett - cool
Jacob - love it. A classic. Favourite
Atlas - not keen
Ares - not keen
Caspian - love it. Also love Casper?
Orlando - maybe? Not so sure
Kingsley - like
You’ve got a great list
Here are some suggestions:
Caleb
Eli
Ellis
Miles / Milo
Seth
Cole
Wilf(red)
Otis
Otto
Eric
Barnaby
Sidney
Casper (as above)
Rudy/Rudi
Dexter
Nathan/Nathaniel - Nate
Blake
Bodhi
River
Angus
Dominic
Angus
Thanks for the suggestions and feedback.
I'm dropping Orlando from the shortlist. Some further information, I'm considering Morgan and Caden as they have a Cornish link and I am half Cornish. Although I feel they both have drawbacks(Morgan is used for more girls than boys in the Usa and Caden is perhaps common because of Jaden, Kaiden, Haden etc?).
I'm adding Cole to the list, I like that thank you. Would also add Hugo but my wife doesnt like names that end in 'o'.
Orlando, Caspian and Jacob are my favs. I might choose Caspar over Caspian.
I love Cornish names but I’d find another one because I think Caden is too like Kayden which is über chav. Ditto Morgan and Cole.
Ah dont want chav. A little difficult for me to tell always what is or isnt chav, fashionable etc at any particular time because we are not in the Uk now, but I feel like we should pay attention to it as we may move back in the future.
I like Jacob quite a lot now, but dont like the nickname Jake.
Jacob or Caspian.
Stylish and fit well with Noah.
I would agree about Caden sounding slightly C word but I’d disagree that Cole does x
mmm its chav in the ul id say?sorry.it is in our area.but deff not in the usa.i have us cousins and its seems very popular over there aswell as some others that we squint at
The Jacobs I know do not go by the name Jake. One goes by “Jay” though which I really like
Caspian Jacob is cool
Morgan and Caden are a bit ‘chavvy’ (sorry). What about Caleb?
Atlas is cool too. What about Orion?
I quite like Caleb. I will put it on our shortlist. Orion is cool but i dont want people to call him Ryan.
Kingsley is very much the best of jour list. I really like it.
Kingsley Jacob. Sounds great.
