I prefer Aria as Isla is way too popular where I live!

Isla, because it's timeless, whereas Aria could end up sounding like a Game of Thrones throwback. I know the character was Arya, but still...
OTOH if that's not a concern for you, Aria is lovely.

I prefer Isla, but it is very popular at the moment. I know of a lot of islas.

Agree with pp aria just makes me think of game of thrones

There's a few Aria's found here, various spellings. I much prefer Isla, it's beautiful, although I know it's popular too.

Isla.
Both are popular but Aria will date badly and sounds awful in some accents.

Oh sorry @Slouise92 I didn’t RTFLBlush

You probably wouldn’t like my children’s names though.

Both incredibly popular. Aria only popular because of a tv show. Aria will not age well.

Slouise92 · 03/12/2019 19:47

What's RTFL mean Haha

How do you pronounce Aria?

A-righ-er
Ah-righ- er

Or

Are-e-er

Slouise92 · 03/12/2019 19:52

Rolling in the floor laughing? How mature.
Lets hear your children's names then..I bet I will hate them

twinsizedmattress · 03/12/2019 19:56

Both hideously overused and boring.

Is there nothing else you'd like?

Report
Chlosavxox · 03/12/2019 20:07

@twinsizedmattress nope, hence me making a thread to chose between the two Smile I like them both, thanks for your input though

Isla.

Aria is a fashion name and will date badly.

@Slouise92 the poster meant they hadn’t read the whole thread but misspelt it. No need to be so bitchy without knowing what was being said.

Isla

Isla is actually much rarer than it used to be. If you check the stats then it peaked about 5-10 years ago and has declined every year since. There’s 2 Isla’s in my sons school in the older classes but none in the younger groups, which reflects the statistics I suppose

I think it’s beautiful but I love Aria too.
