Jesse for a boy?

DH thinks it's too girly. I love it. I'm aware of the 'big Jesse' insult in Scotland but we're not in Scotland. Any thoughts? Anyone know of any boys called Jesse and do they like their name?

I love it .
I think it's a lovely name and I never comment on the name threads.
( except the American bashing one earlier haha)
It would be lovely with my DS2 name which is Quinn.
He's almost 11 and the 3rd generation Quinn.
I love the spelling of Jesse too.
Congratulations

Love it, if DC2 had been a boy he would have been Jesse Smile

I really like Quinn too! I understand if you don't want to say but would love to know your DS1 name. We seem to have similar taste.

I love it! I liked Jesse for a boy after watching the Gilmore girls... team Jesse all the way! (DH vetoed me on all Gilmore girl inspired names though, I'll never have a little lorelai either)

We have a Jesse in our family. I'll admit, I wasn't keen when I first heard it but it really suits him. It's a grower.

There are 2 lovely little boys called Jesse in my DD's swimming class! They're both under one and suit their names.
I think it's a great choice Smile

I love Jesse. My grandad was a Jess and Jesse would have been on my list but my niece is called Jessica, and the fact I had dd’s meant it wasn’t to be!

@Batmanandrobin123 he is Tommy, which is another family name ( American DF) he is the 5th generation Tommy.
None of them were Thomas . Just Tommy.
Just after he was born my grandfather died (another Tommy ) and for about a year it was like a knife in the heart when I said his name.
Only downside to family names!
His middle names are Joseph and Gabriel after my 2 favourite uncles.
Fully expected by my DF to follow the family line and name the first born child's first son after the grandfather.
So I didn't get much choice 😂

I think it's OK as a name but a big wet Jesse is used as an insult where I grew up (North Manchester) too. Not just Scotland.

LOVE it! If I were to have another boy I would use it.

Thanks for sharing. I love Tommy. My nephew is Thomas which ruled it out (although they never use Tommy)
It has a cheeky feel to it. Our DS is Rory. I tend to like soft sounding names.
Our Rory has wild curly blonde hair and I can imagine a little Jesse the same way Smile

My little boy is Jesse, he's almost 7. Really suits it and he loves his name.

I know a little 10 year old with this name, he loves it. Not had any troubles with spellings or pronunciation. I don’t see it as a feminine name, only as a boys’ name x

Too girly. Sounds like it’s short for Jessica

Lovely name and very on trend. I know 5 under 5 and one not born yet, so very popular.

I'm not keen. I know a teenage Jesse who dislikes his name.

Jesse has become quite a popular name for boys quite recently.
