(70 Posts)For no other reason than i'm a nosy bugger. I was wondering what names you have seen grow in popularity this year, have there been any surprises?
So one boys name and one girls.
Boy - Ralph / Ralphie
Girl - Luna
Those two names are both th family dogs!!
How random Ethelswith
The last two babies I know that have been born have been called Ralph and Luna, so you may well be right!
Agree that both are already quite popular, I've also heard the name Ada for girls and Remy used a lot lately for boys
I know of 3 Ada's born this year.
Cara/Kara,
Arthur
Leo
I know of 5 new babies called Rowan/ Roan. 3 boys and 2 girls.
I love Luna! So pretty.
Boy: Sonny
Girl: Nova
Also Aurora for girls keep hearing that a lot
I know 3 babies called Roman (with an m)
My son was going to be Rowan but we changed our minds. Seems like it’s rocketing in popularity, along with Roman, as I see it mentioned here all the time! Haven’t met either IRL though.
A bit NI specific, but every second girl I’ve heard of being born recently has been called Fiadh
If it’s not too out-ing what did you decide on instead @Cbeebiesrehab ?
We decided on Jude @MissHenty
Hunter and Roman are booming, have met lots of babies with those names. Wasn’t surprised to read they were officially last years’ fastest rising names within top 100.
In terms of girls’ names, I know two baby Matilda’s but I think that’s maybe just a coincidence because it wasn’t one of the fastest rising names last year
I know so many pets called Luna, but no babies as yet.
Roman just makes me think of Roman Polanski, the child rapist.
So many baby Jaspers near me! The first one I thought how lovely and unusual!
Definitely Matilda for girls.
Raphi/ Raphael / Rafferty type names among the boys.
I've heard a lot of Isla, Alfie, Ted, Teddy, Matilda, Ava
I've heard lots of Alfies, teddy's, Henry's George, theo, Lucas,
Girls, Isla, willow, Ella, Mia, freya
In the North West x
Oww good shout on Rowan / Roman, there seems to be loads all of a sudden.
Margot
Fred/Freddie or Bertie
