For no other reason than i'm a nosy bugger. I was wondering what names you have seen grow in popularity this year, have there been any surprises?

So one boys name and one girls.

The last two babies I know that have been born have been called Ralph and Luna, so you may well be right!

Agree that both are already quite popular, I've also heard the name Ada for girls and Remy used a lot lately for boys

Haveacupofcoffee Mon 02-Dec-19 15:16:13

I know of 3 Ada's born this year.

MissHenty Mon 02-Dec-19 15:34:44

I know 3 babies called Roman (with an m)

Cbeebiesrehab Mon 02-Dec-19 16:48:34

My son was going to be Rowan but we changed our minds. Seems like it’s rocketing in popularity, along with Roman, as I see it mentioned here all the time! Haven’t met either IRL though.

TerribleCustomerCervix Mon 02-Dec-19 16:50:19

A bit NI specific, but every second girl I’ve heard of being born recently has been called Fiadh

MissHenty Mon 02-Dec-19 17:08:50

If it’s not too out-ing what did you decide on instead @Cbeebiesrehab ?

Cbeebiesrehab Mon 02-Dec-19 17:10:41

We decided on Jude @MissHenty smile

Hunter and Roman are booming, have met lots of babies with those names. Wasn’t surprised to read they were officially last years’ fastest rising names within top 100.

Leopardprintboots Mon 02-Dec-19 17:31:07

In terms of girls’ names, I know two baby Matilda’s but I think that’s maybe just a coincidence because it wasn’t one of the fastest rising names last year

Panpastels Mon 02-Dec-19 17:33:01

I know so many pets called Luna, but no babies as yet.

KeithPartridge Mon 02-Dec-19 17:34:48

Roman just makes me think of Roman Polanski, the child rapist.

KindnessCrusader Mon 02-Dec-19 17:35:25

So many baby Jaspers near me! The first one I thought how lovely and unusual!

LikeSilentRaindrops Mon 02-Dec-19 17:36:59

Definitely Matilda for girls.

Raphi/ Raphael / Rafferty type names among the boys.

LolaSmiles Mon 02-Dec-19 17:37:32

I've heard a lot of Isla, Alfie, Ted, Teddy, Matilda, Ava

Thinkingsticks Mon 02-Dec-19 17:48:01

I've heard lots of Alfies, teddy's, Henry's George, theo, Lucas,

Girls, Isla, willow, Ella, Mia, freya

In the North West x

WaterSheep Mon 02-Dec-19 19:33:32
