(81 Posts)Hi all,
We've just found out that baby #2 is a girl (yay)! We're after a Welsh name which is easy to pronounce / spell - we live in Wales but half of the family are English. DD1s name is Catrin Rose. We'd like a flower / plant for a middle name again. Last name is close enough to "Davids" to make no difference.
First names we're considering - Bethan / Elinor / Megan / Rhiannon
Middle names we're considering - Lily / Ivy / Violet
Middle names that we can't use due to various reasons: Poppy, Holly, Daisy, Iris.
We'd love some opinions on the names we're looking at, and also any other names which you lovely lot think we should consider.
Megan Lily and Bethan Lily are gorgeous.
Elinor Violet
Megan Willow
Elinor Jasmine
Rhiannon Azalea
Bethan Olive
Bethan Dahlia
Only go for Bethan if you are happy for her and all her friends to pronounce it as Began for about 5 years.
Elinor Fleur
Elinor Viola
Megan Zinnia
Megan Fern
Sorry Befan not Began.
I personally prefer Rhian to Rhiannon
Carys or Nia are also nice.
Elinor Rowan would be stunning, lovely and striking.
I like Bethan Ivy or Elinor Violet
I also like Elin, Elan, Deryn, Mali, Madi, Gwen, Mari,
Anwen, Alys, and Lowri.
And Rosa.
I love Bethan Lily. How do you feel about Rhian? Rhian Ivy is lovely.
My daughter is Meredith, shortened to merry. I really like your name choices ❤️
Eleri is a beautiful name - what about Eleri Rose or Eleri Willow?
Seren Eirlys. Always loved it and would have used it if had any Welsh connection
I love Eirlys. It's been on every list I've had but I've always been vetoed.
All lovely names. I particularly love Elinor.
I have an Elen, and almost everyone spells her name Ellen (we do live in England though, and people don't seem to know the Welsh version).
Elinor Ivy
Seren is lovely and also Enfys which means rainbow
Eirlys is pretty but not easy to pronounce or spell...
Ffion?
Not Welsh but Irish Blanith, means flower, pronounced Blon et.
Elinor Ffion
Bethan Lily
Betsan Violet
Rhiannon. I love this name so much that I gave it to my horse- she is the goddess of horses.
Violet for a middle name?
I prefer Betsan to Bethan. I'm welsh and know many Bethans in their late 40s and 50s.
Eirlys ? It means “snowdrop”
Beti
Enfys
Carys
Llacu
Llinos
Celyn
Meredydd
Mererid
