Nice sound but my first thought was 'is that the deadly virus?' (no, as it turns out!)

One of the female characters in NCIS - it is Hebrew for "radiance"

I'm afraid my first thought was Zika upon reading it too.

Saying it aloud though (Zee-va), it does sound quite nice.

It makes me think of the daffodil with the same name. To be fair it’s a very nice daffodil.

Pretty Hebrew name. I like it.

Unfortunately the virus was my first thought too.

Interesting and unusual! Better than another Ava or Emily

It’s “Zee-va”, Hebrew. I love short, strong but pretty names and this is one that’s been on my mind; I used to know a lovely Ziva.

Also like names like Noor, Vashti, Zosia, Tamar, Anouk...

Doesn't it also mean gonorrhea in Hebrew?
but I might be wrong... I just remember watching NCIS with an Israeli roommate.

I know a lovely Ziva of about seven. Nice change from the Lila Lola Layla Lyra of her year group.

Do you watch NCIS by any chance?

Ziva David. Only time I have heard the name. I like it.

I like it. Probably prefer Zena but it’s more common.

Also like Viva (pronounced Veeva).

Makes me think you are an NCIS fan but I do like it.

Lovely. We had a cat called that, named after the one on NCIS.

I’ve never heard of it before, but I actually like it. Even moved that it’s a traditional name.
