Has this name been ruined by the pig?

Does anyone like it? Or is it just too much?

Wolfiefan Tue 22-Oct-19 21:21:29

It’s great. For a Schnauzer.

NationMcKinley Tue 22-Oct-19 21:21:53

Pippin Galadriel Moonchild is better

spice3 Tue 22-Oct-19 21:23:00

@MrsMaryMooFace never, but did give it a quick google......

@lotusbell my DP likes it purely for this reason!

Runningsmooth Tue 22-Oct-19 21:23:11

I like it. Wasn't there a Pepper in Annie?

millymae Tue 22-Oct-19 21:26:59

Surely not - I’m usually pretty laid back when it comes to names but today we’ve had Revel and now Pepper.
I know names are just sounds and children have no preconceptions, but I would be embarrassed to be called either of these.

Fallofrain Tue 22-Oct-19 21:32:24

I actually dont consider myself out there and have very pedestrian name choices....

But i like pepper!

Although i wonder if there might be a spicy/ sexy connotation?

bakesalesally Tue 22-Oct-19 22:08:27

Oh for goodness sake!!!confusedhmmshock
This is a nickname and not something to be officially inflicted upon an actual person for the rest of their life.

Please give your child a decent, acceptable name and then call the child by a nick name. That way, they have the choice as an adult to decide what they prefer.

OnTopOfTheWardrobe Tue 22-Oct-19 22:37:25

I dislike seasoning names like Pepper, Sage or whatever other nonsense (sure there must be a baby Tumeric somewhere...)
Pepper s just associated with the pig. Don't do it.

ViserionTheDragon Tue 22-Oct-19 22:42:21

It's up there with Balonz gin.

StrawberryPi Tue 22-Oct-19 22:53:33

In Spanish Pepa is a nickname for Maria Jose, does that appeal?

Runkle Tue 22-Oct-19 22:58:34

I know a Guinea pig called Pepper.

megletthesecond Tue 22-Oct-19 23:01:04

It's cute but not a proper name.
Call her Penelope. Then, if you must, you can use Pepper for her nickname.

TheJoxter Tue 22-Oct-19 23:01:20

Could have it as a nickname for Philippa, that way they can become pippa if they don’t like pepper

TheJoxter Tue 22-Oct-19 23:01:41

Or Penelope as another poster just said

PrincessHoneysuckle Tue 22-Oct-19 23:06:31

Google pepper from American horror story and I guarantee you wont want to use it grin

FizzyGreenWater Tue 22-Oct-19 23:13:28

How about Condimentia, Pepper for short

MissLadyM Tue 22-Oct-19 23:21:52

My best friend is called Pepper! I love it and have never thought of the pig!

DontCallMeShitley Tue 22-Oct-19 23:40:11

How about Capiscum?

Astronica Wed 23-Oct-19 03:29:23

I like it. And I like it as a nickname for Penelope.

Topseyt Wed 23-Oct-19 03:36:44

I do like a bit of pepper, on food and with salt. I would find it a very strange choice of name indeed.

Awful. Just don't.

Littledidsheknow Wed 23-Oct-19 08:02:13

No. It’s too mundane and everyday.

Would be better to go for “Paprika.”

SaharaSunset Wed 23-Oct-19 08:05:50

In all seriousness, I always think of Pepper Potts from Iron Man not the Pig

MrsElijahMikaelson1 Wed 23-Oct-19 08:06:47

Is it you who also wanted Revel?

Just give your kid a normal name

CaptainTurdseye Wed 23-Oct-19 08:08:52

Pepper’s a character in AHS

Sally99 Wed 23-Oct-19 08:09:51

It's a nice name for an animal. Sorry!
