(43 Posts)We are pretty much settled on Eden for our DD's first name but what is everyone's thoughts on Bloom for her middle name?
I absolutely love it I just need to convince DH!
It's fine. It sounds familiar to me somehow but can't for the life of me think why?
I love the name Eden.
DH googled it and there are a few florist called Eden Bloom, that may be why its familiar!
Surly there are worst shops to be named after!
Go for it. I think it's lovely. x
Eden is c***vy and Bloom is bloomin awful.
Eden is overused but ok - not with Bloom though. It isn't a name and sounds like an ad for the Eden project.
Eden sounds like it could be a sanitary towel name.
Bloom = blooming = blimmin
Eden is a traditionally boy's name and still in use for boys.I suggest you need something less surnamey in the middle , unless of course your aim is a masculine name.
Not a fan, bit like a character name from a cheesy chick-lit...
Each to their own though.
And congrats on your little girl
Ghastly sorry
Bloom is a Jewish surname. It sounds very surnamey to me.
How about Eden Blossom? Or another floral name....
Sounds like an air freshener to me.
It sounds like a paint colour or air freshener to me, sorry Op. Its very twee.
Eden is lovely, but not keen on Bloom.
Eden - yes.
Bloom - dear gawd no.
Sounds like a powder blusher shade from the 1960s.
Eden is OK but not alongside Bloom. It’s too paint/air freshener.
Sorry, sounds like the name Glade would give one of their air fresheners.
I like it. I like one syllable names for girls and Bloom feminises Eden which is traditionally a male name. Think it will be marmite on here though.
You've all made DH very happy! Boooo
But I do all get what you all mean, back to the drawing board then
Eden is gorgeous... I'm not so sure about Bloom though. Maybe try a flower /plant name?
Iris, Dittany, Willow, Rose, Lily or Jonqil?
No.
Sounds pretentious.
Will a grown-up Eden Bloom thank you for your great choice when choosing her name?
I wouldn't.
*Jonquil sorry not Jonqil
Love it! Go for it. I had Eden down for a first name for my DD / DS (we didn't know what we were having)
