If you want your daughter to be a laughing stock all her life, go right ahead.

spice3 Fri 18-Oct-19 09:22:28

I actually really like this!!!

user1480880826 Fri 18-Oct-19 09:22:42

What’s it short for?

DailyFailAreTwats Fri 18-Oct-19 09:23:04

Theodora on the BC and Teddy as a nn, fine. But give her the choice.

MissHenty Fri 18-Oct-19 11:33:52

I think it’s nice and can’t see why she’d be a laughing stock

Unfortunately girls with boys names are seen as ‘cool’.
Boys with girls names is practically illegal.

What does that tell us about societies view of women 😥

Anyway that’s a topic for another day but Teddy is nice for a girl

Lavenderblues Fri 18-Oct-19 11:34:22

Teddy is cute for a girl! But I'd give her Theodora as full name.

Lavenderblues Fri 18-Oct-19 11:35:22

Robbie Williams's daughter is called Teddy.

It's cute but works better for a girl than boy imo.

Aquilla Fri 18-Oct-19 11:35:53

Cute nickname but yes, she deserves a proper name.

Raphael34 Fri 18-Oct-19 11:35:57

I think its daft, but then I don’t like it for a boy either. Will it be short for something so she can have a choice?

Lavenderblues Fri 18-Oct-19 11:36:13

Laughing stock hmmconfused

Much worse for a boy imo.

Mrsjayy Fri 18-Oct-19 11:36:34

I can't see her being a laughing stock confused I think it is fine Robbie williams dd is Teddie

Sleepyquest Fri 18-Oct-19 11:37:34

I keep suggesting this to my husband. It's short for Theodora and I think it's cute

Twelve8Ts Fri 18-Oct-19 12:31:28

Love it, always have. I think Teddie is nicer.
There are many weird and wonderful names out there, Teddy isn’t one of them. ‘Laughing stock’ is a very dramatic reaction.

mulky Fri 18-Oct-19 12:32:58

It's much better for a girl than a boy in my opinion. It just doesn't age well, a grownup called Teddy sounds daft.

Lavenderblues Fri 18-Oct-19 12:47:49

Definitely too cute for a grown man 🧸 Teddy?!

But cute for a little girl. Love Theodora!

OkayGo Fri 18-Oct-19 13:03:13

I like it

midsomermurderess Fri 18-Oct-19 13:04:51

What about a name that she can use as an adult? Why must girls manes be cutsie, frilly, infantile?

Aprillygirl Fri 18-Oct-19 13:06:01

Love it for a baby/little girl. not so much for a teenager/grown woman. Do not name her Theodora though, that's fucking awful!

Chirpychirpy3 Fri 18-Oct-19 13:11:41

Theodora is lovely. Then has the options of Thea, Teddy or Dora.

Sux2buthen Fri 18-Oct-19 13:14:27

I really wanted it for my daughter but I'm a take that fan and I know everyone would've thought I'd used it because of Robbie so I didn't. But anyway, it's really nice I like it

HermioneWeasley Fri 18-Oct-19 13:15:27

No, far too cutesy.

WhatALearningCurve Fri 18-Oct-19 13:21:45

There is a character in Greys Anatomy called Teddy - it's short for Theodora which is a completely acceptable name and I love the nn.

Lavenderblues Fri 18-Oct-19 13:41:39

Theodora is beautiful! Teddy is a lovely nickname for when she's little

Bourbonbiccy Fri 18-Oct-19 13:54:36

I agree Theodora on both certificate and then you can use Teddy as a nickname.

She can choose when she's older.
