title inspired by my horrendous step MILF. she begged to know what names I’m considering so gave in and got told that my taste was getting ‘chavvier by the day.’ Cheers!
A click-baity title is needed as I am actually due in 5 days, Christ. And people on mumsnet are very attracted to the word ‘chav’ or variants aren’t they.

So my original thread is here.

Here is my shortlist
Harper
Everly
Wren
Skye
Savannah
Harlow - yes aware of the place in Essex!

Helppp! Maybe I should just settle for Chavia, that would piss off MIL!

My favourite is Wren, I know of just 3 year old with that name and it's lovely.

I dislike the word chav but I kind of agree with what your MIL is saying, sorry!

I like Wren the best out of those, the others aren't to my taste, but you choose the one you can imagine calling across a playground /your daughter using at school and then work - Think newsreader, prime minister, actress, doctor, teacher... which one works and makes you happy?

You should really go for Chavia Grin

None are really to my taste, but if I had to choose a name for myself I'd prefer to be called Savannah.

Harper - really like, I also like Piper which is similar

Everly - I’ve honestly never heard this used as a girls name, not keen

Wren - again really like, but seems to be getting increasingly popular

Skye - nice, a fairly “classic” slightly hippyish name

Harlow - another not keen, not because of Essex, just don’t really like the sound

Savannah - okay, makes me think of hot dusty places though

I like Wren or Skye.
People keep asking DH and I what we are calling our DS2 (due next month) - we haven't decided but people keep going on at us so DH has started to tell people we're calling him Hades! Gets a few funny looks I must say!

You have to choose names YOU like! I am not too keen on your choices, but then I like old school Italian names like Clara, Isotta, Clarice, Ornella, Lidia, Dora & Carlotta. But I would not worry about 'chav' - somebody's 'chav' is someone else's 'fresh' and 'modern' - you do you! :D

Agree with your mil I'm afraid - but it's your child so really up to you!

She’s right but it’s still very rude of her.
Wren is the exception though - lovely name.

Wren is lovely for a boy or girl. I grew up with a really ubiquitous name. So my priority would be checking where these names fall in top 100/200/whatever. I don't like the word chav. Personally I think some are a bit tacky. But your mil was rude! Its very tack to comment on others tastes uninvited. You need to pick something you like.

Not a fan of any of them I'm afraid, but as a PP said just pick a name that strikes a balance between what you love and what will carry her through all stages of her life.

I must be in a minority but I really can't understand the popularity of Wren. It sounds and looks awful to me.

The only one I like from your list is Wren. I know a little Wren and she's lovely.

I think all are fine, except Harlow which is a town in Essex.

I like Harper and Everly.

I think Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan called their daughter Everly and I think it's lovely. It's sort of different without being ridiculous, but also still stays in the normal Eve, Eva, Ava territory for me if that makes sense?

You mean you don't have
Turkey
Nimbus
Tundra
on your list?

Dd age 4 is a Savannah. Really suits her and everyone comments on it in a nice way. Nickname is Van or Vanna.
