Got a feeling this might divide mumsnet! Grin My husband suggested it. I like it but it's unusual and wonder what people think of it?

I really like it. Strong and a bit horsey.

Yes know what you mean about it being horsey Smile
We're definitely not from high society... Not sure we can pull it off in that case x

It has a beautiful sound and meaning, but it’s also an antihistamine - not sure if here in the UK though? If it’s not then go for it Smile

It’s ok. I vaguely remember it’s the name of Vanessa Feltz’s daughter.

Better than pellegra.

no, too earthy imo

I like it.

Not sure why you couldn't 'pull it off' Hmm or what qualities one needs to do so?!

I like it. It's quite 'posh' to my ears. A pretty name that will grow with her.

isn't the antihistamine Allergan.
I like it, but she'll be Legs.

Lovely name, I know one at the local school, seem like an 'ordinary' family, not posh.

Thanks for the feedback. I hate to catagorise names but I do think of it as a bit posh. We're definitely not posh.
Im not sure if ppl would have an issue with that... Trying too hard or something silly if we do decide on Allegra.

Yes I vaguely remember Vanessa fletz having a daughter called Allegra.
I actually love Vanessa feltz....not sure anyone would agree with me!

Nope, definitely Allegra, but Google tells me the UK brand name is Telfast, so should be ok on that front.

I love it, would have called DD it if DH had let me have my way

It’s beyond dreadful. It’s loved on here though. I don’t get the hype and appeal whatsoever.

I worked in Italy and had a couple of lovely students called Allegra so I love it! I think Ally is a cute nickname too.

I like it but I swear it's the name of a pizza or something similar sounding

Report

DD has an Allegra at her primary school. Family aren't really posh but are a bit horsey.

I'm showing my age now but when I first heard the name I thought of the car. Now I actually quite like it.
