Got a feeling this might divide mumsnet! grin My husband suggested it. I like it but it's unusual and wonder what people think of it?

Tillygetsit Mon 09-Sep-19 14:36:30

I really like it. Strong and a bit horsey.

FantasticPhyllis Mon 09-Sep-19 14:37:06

I like it

Orangeleavez Mon 09-Sep-19 14:39:17

Yes know what you mean about it being horsey smile
We're definitely not from high society... Not sure we can pull it off in that case x

SouthwarkSkaters Mon 09-Sep-19 14:45:35

It has a beautiful sound and meaning, but it’s also an antihistamine - not sure if here in the UK though? If it’s not then go for it smile

Frith2013 Mon 09-Sep-19 15:12:07

It’s ok. I vaguely remember it’s the name of Vanessa Feltz’s daughter.

Better than pellegra.

Hannah021 Mon 09-Sep-19 15:14:34

no, too earthy imo

Lavenderblues Mon 09-Sep-19 15:19:09

I like it.

Not sure why you couldn't 'pull it off' hmm or what qualities one needs to do so?!

NameChange84 Mon 09-Sep-19 15:19:43

Love it.

AdaColeman Mon 09-Sep-19 15:19:56

It’s medication where I’m from, rhymes with Viagra.
NN Leggy
It’s a no from me

BeautyGoesToBenidorm Mon 09-Sep-19 15:21:36

I like it. It's quite 'posh' to my ears. A pretty name that will grow with her.

MikeUniformMike Mon 09-Sep-19 15:24:36

isn't the antihistamine Allergan.
I like it, but she'll be Legs.

user1493494961 Mon 09-Sep-19 15:25:07

Lovely name, I know one at the local school, seem like an 'ordinary' family, not posh.

Orangeleavez Mon 09-Sep-19 15:28:58

Thanks for the feedback. I hate to catagorise names but I do think of it as a bit posh. We're definitely not posh.
Im not sure if ppl would have an issue with that... Trying too hard or something silly if we do decide on Allegra.

Yes I vaguely remember Vanessa fletz having a daughter called Allegra.
I actually love Vanessa feltz....not sure anyone would agree with me!

SouthwarkSkaters Mon 09-Sep-19 15:29:49

Nope, definitely Allegra, but Google tells me the UK brand name is Telfast, so should be ok on that front.

PleaseGoogleIt Mon 09-Sep-19 15:30:58

I love it, would have called DD it if DH had let me have my way

Awwlookatmybabyspider Mon 09-Sep-19 15:31:39

It’s beyond dreadful. It’s loved on here though. I don’t get the hype and appeal whatsoever.

Icantthinkofanynewnames Mon 09-Sep-19 15:36:50

I worked in Italy and had a couple of lovely students called Allegra so I love it! I think Ally is a cute nickname too.

Moominfan Mon 09-Sep-19 15:41:02

I like it but I swear it's the name of a pizza or something similar sounding

MrsPellegrinoPetrichor Mon 09-Sep-19 15:43:54

No,it's horsey and sounds like a Jilly Cooper character.

simonisnotme Mon 09-Sep-19 15:45:40

DramaAlpaca Mon 09-Sep-19 15:46:54
