DD2 is due in September and these are our 3 favourite names:

Ciara (pronounced Keer-ah)
Isla
Jessica

Her big sister's name is Olivia. Please let me know what you think of our list, thanks! Smile

I like Jessica. There are wayyy too many Islas around at the moment

Ciara. Such a classic, beautiful name.

I really like all the names but i think my favourite has to be Ciara, and it goes well with Olivia x

I think I’d probably choose Jessica but Ciara is more unusual

Love your list! I have a Jessica so I’d choose that though Smile

All three names are lovely. Potential downsides:
Ciara - will forever be pronounced and spelt wrong
Isla - very very popular at the moment
Jessica - also very popular

My favourite 5 years ago would definitely have been Isla but now I think I’d choose Jessica.

Ciara, Kiera, Chiara, Kira all add to spelling confusion.

For that reason I'd choose Jessica.

Ciara is lovely. If you're in Ireland noone will pronounce it wrong.

I like all of them, but I'd choose Jessica to go with Olivia.

Ciara is my favourite but I like the suggestion of Chiara even more. Jessica is pretty and underused these days. Isla is a bit faddy and nothing-y.

  1. Ciara 100%. Beautiful name.

I love Ciara, my easy first choice. 2nd is Jessica. Isla is everywhere and very similar in sounds to Olivia.

The name Jessica will never seem dated. I think Isla might well do though.

Isla is such a lovely name, so I would go with that as it also sounds so sweet with Olivia. Presumably popularity isn't an issue if you have an Olivia so I'd def choose Isla!

Jessica, because I have one.
But be prepared for Jess, and Jessie.

I like Ciara best.

Ciara - No. Too many mispronunciations.
Jessica - too overrated
Isla - a teacher once pronounced a girl at school - Is -la. Put me off.

I would go back to the drawing board.

Love love love Olivia.

With it I would have:

Bridget
Alice
Charlotte
Felicity
Emily

Definitely not something ending in an A sound.

My favourite would be Charlotte.

Years ago my DD went to school with a Ciara, pretty much everyone pronounced it see-ara.

Isla is bland.

Jessica is great, lovely name and doesn't seem as popular these days. Goes lovely with Olivia.

Ciara. But then I am biased Smile and as pp have said, huge problems with pronunciation and spelling in the UK, which I didn't think would be that big of a deal...

Report
Pinkybutterfly · 20/04/2019 09:47

As pp Jessica is just overrated, Isla I'm sorry but it means island..., Ciara they are going to drive you mad with the misspellings... What about something similar... Clara? Isabel, Isabella, Iris, Lilian. Good luck
