Starlight456 Tue 26-Mar-19 20:40:33

I think of Katie price .

I hate it . You should only be called Princess if you are a Princess

AnnaComnena Tue 26-Mar-19 20:40:34

Seriously? No.

Barrenfieldoffucks Tue 26-Mar-19 20:40:37

No. Unless it's a title.

Marlena1 Tue 26-Mar-19 20:40:39

Lovely on a baby, but as she got olderhmm I think of Jordan but her generation won't

DramaAlpaca Tue 26-Mar-19 20:41:08

Really? Just no.

TeenTimesTwo Tue 26-Mar-19 20:41:50

MikeUniformMike Tue 26-Mar-19 20:41:55

Yes, go for it.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 Tue 26-Mar-19 20:42:36

No no no no no

aliceandkids77 Tue 26-Mar-19 20:43:45

Oh no. i’m sure it’ll lead to endless teasing all her life, i think she’d much rather you give her another name x

MeowthThatsRight Tue 26-Mar-19 20:44:05

It makes me assume she’s going to have pierced ears, a mahoosive hairband and patent leather white sandals by 6 weeks old.

LightDrizzle Tue 26-Mar-19 20:44:06

small2018 Tue 26-Mar-19 20:44:32

Hate it! And hate it when people call their daughters 'little princess'!

Imacliche Tue 26-Mar-19 20:44:34

Unless your giving birth to a teacup chihuahua, its a no from me

HermioneWeasley Tue 26-Mar-19 20:44:42

No. Why would you?

beebreath Tue 26-Mar-19 20:45:12

Dare you to ! smile

DrinkFeckArseGirls Tue 26-Mar-19 20:45:33

Hushnownobodycares Tue 26-Mar-19 20:45:41

No. Unless you're a senior royal and planning to team it with a proper name.

simonisnotme Tue 26-Mar-19 20:46:47

totally rediculous

GoFiguire Tue 26-Mar-19 20:47:02

Only if your surname is Michaelofkent

Barbarafromblackpool Tue 26-Mar-19 20:49:49

Why not.

mrsstephens89 Tue 26-Mar-19 20:51:17

Meghan? Or troll? grin

trickyex Tue 26-Mar-19 20:51:44

InfiniteSheldon Tue 26-Mar-19 20:51:51

Ridiculous and she will refuse to use it eventually

RussellSprout Tue 26-Mar-19 20:52:33

Katie Price, is that you?

LorelaiRoryEmily Tue 26-Mar-19 20:56:04

I had a dog called princess. It’s a great name for a

Allyg1185 Tue 26-Mar-19 20:56:13

Hell no

Springwalk Tue 26-Mar-19 20:56:38

Don’t do it

thefirst48 Tue 26-Mar-19 20:56:40

Truly awful.

Figgygal Tue 26-Mar-19 20:57:09

Erasure Tue 26-Mar-19 20:57:46

Megan, seriously just because you marry a Prince it doesn't make your daughter a Princess! Naming her that won't make it anymore so! Call her Diana, that'll piss the old dear off and teach her for taking your titles!

123Flopsy Tue 26-Mar-19 20:58:22

Are you serious?

Creatureofthenight Tue 26-Mar-19 20:59:50

You are joking, right?

OldGrinch Tue 26-Mar-19 21:00:21

Absolutely dreadful this has to be a wind up?

Chocmallows Tue 26-Mar-19 21:01:33

MeowthThatsRight Tue 26-Mar-19 21:09:15

I would bloody love it if Harry and Megan named their kid Princess.

rosydreams Tue 26-Mar-19 21:09:21

if your looking for reassurance on the name you like your not going to find it.Yes its very cute but children don't stay as cute baby's for long .They grow up and want to be treated as such.

There's loads of choice for anyone that wants a cute name without going as far as princess maybe someone here can give you a adorable suggestion

Tiramisu1 Tue 26-Mar-19 21:10:09

It's not even cute for a baby or toddler!

Rtmhwales Tue 26-Mar-19 21:11:48

It's actually a fairly common and normal name (as is Prince) in parts of Africa. I taught many Princess's and Prince's in Ghana. Can't see it going over well in the UK though.

Bellaposey Tue 26-Mar-19 21:12:39

So, so bad.

slappinthebass Tue 26-Mar-19 21:14:47

Hahahahahahaha. Good one.

KeepCalm Tue 26-Mar-19 21:15:07

AuntieStella Tue 26-Mar-19 21:16:30

Classic Eastenders (Den to Sharon)

Nanalisa60 Tue 26-Mar-19 21:18:35

Please don’t !!

If you really like it just use it as a nickname

Think of dirty den and Sharon what’s he always called his daughter princess!! Which is fine if it’s a nickname!!

But please give her another name!! Just think would you like to be called princess as a grown women!!

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz Tue 26-Mar-19 21:24:00

Why? She will never ever be taken seriously.
Why would you want to choose that name?

ColdCrumpetsandButter Tue 26-Mar-19 21:31:20

For a handbag dog, yes. For a human, no.

Imagine a 57yr old woman called Princess?

Glitterkitten24 Tue 26-Mar-19 21:32:36

I can’t roll my eyes hard enough. 🙄 just, no.

PolarBearDisguisedAsAPenguin Tue 26-Mar-19 21:33:43

In the U.K., no, just don’t. If you want to, call her Zara which means princess but is a name in its own right.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys Tue 26-Mar-19 21:36:06

Archduchess is much classier

sue51 Tue 26-Mar-19 21:36:23

Please, for you daughter's sake, don't do it.

PastaPins Tue 26-Mar-19 21:37:31

Oh dear hmm

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz Tue 26-Mar-19 21:40:58

Is this a wind up? Because I just can't believe anyone would consider the name.

And if it's not I'm actually really angry anyone would consider it and not have thought through how the name could affect this child's future.

DrinkFeckArseGirls Tue 26-Mar-19 21:53:16

rtmhwales hope it’s not usage of apostrophes that you were teaching them...

chickenalapesh Tue 26-Mar-19 21:56:47

What about tinker bell?

Barrenfieldoffucks Tue 26-Mar-19 22:11:21

There's a girl at school called Dolly.

Tiramisu1 Tue 26-Mar-19 22:22:19

Dolly can be friends with Teddy 🧸

But Princess?!

Nnnnnineteen Tue 26-Mar-19 23:01:53

Having taught a Princess, a Prince and a King, do you have any idea how demeaning it is for an adult to call a child a name that implies some sort of hierarchy? Or anyone for that matter- how special do you think you are?!

RoseMartha Tue 26-Mar-19 23:07:09

ScrambledSmegs Tue 26-Mar-19 23:10:36

My grandmother had a friend called Queenie. Well, I say friend, I think they cordially hates each other actually. But in a good way.

ScrambledSmegs Tue 26-Mar-19 23:10:49

Frodon Tue 26-Mar-19 23:35:07

A truly hideous name. If you can even call it a name?

I don't even like it for a dog or cat.

AfterSchoolWorry Tue 26-Mar-19 23:37:12

sardinesontoast Tue 26-Mar-19 23:47:10

Good job @lelaking578

newroundhere Wed 27-Mar-19 00:27:48

Better for a girl than a boy....

BackforGood Wed 27-Mar-19 00:44:08

Not often everyone agrees on the baby name threads grin

YemenRoadYemen Wed 27-Mar-19 00:47:40

You're not from round these parts, are you OP?

Lovingbenidorm Wed 27-Mar-19 00:50:30

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Princess!!!!!
If you’re going to post something with the aim of winding people up
Please put a bit more effort in
I’ve got about 40 mins before I go up the wooden hill
And this is just disappointing

HerRoyalNotness Wed 27-Mar-19 00:54:02

If you’re serious, Amira is Arabic for princess. I’d use that.

SurgeHopper Wed 27-Mar-19 00:58:42

I knew a Princess when I worked in a high school

Kid plannedto change her name as soon as she would be able to

RonaldMcDonald Wed 27-Mar-19 01:00:29

Silently judging you and unfortunately your daughter forever

Bumblebeesmum Wed 27-Mar-19 01:03:00

ImposterSyndrome101 Wed 27-Mar-19 01:33:11

I know a girl at uni called Precious and one called Sunshine

I think it's ridiculous

Lovingbenidorm Wed 27-Mar-19 01:37:39

‘Precious ‘ 😳
Is her mum called Golem?

Gingerkittykat Wed 27-Mar-19 02:09:54

Imagine being 17 and lumbered with that name, nobody would take her seriously. There's not even any good nicknames.

I immediately think Princess would be bratty, demanding, spoiled and high maintenance.

Cookit Wed 27-Mar-19 06:52:01

LadyPenelope68 Wed 27-Mar-19 06:55:08

notsosunnyhols Wed 27-Mar-19 06:55:30

MikeUniformMike Wed 27-Mar-19 08:12:45

OP hasn't come back.

Tiramisu1 Wed 27-Mar-19 08:18:15

I'm convinced it's a wind up!

Heratnumber7 Wed 27-Mar-19 08:18:24

What if she marries a prince? Princess Princess would just be embarrassing.
(I know marrying a prince doesn't actually make you a princess, but go with it!)

ErrolTheDragon Wed 27-Mar-19 09:12:33

I wonder if the OP has used her real name, so her DD would be Princess King?

CatandtheFiddle Wed 27-Mar-19 10:33:19

This is a wind up, right? Because no-one's really this stupid?

BarbieJellyBabyBrain Wed 27-Mar-19 10:37:30

Doooo it, Doooo it, Doooo it!

PoshPenny Wed 27-Mar-19 10:37:51

BarbieJellyBabyBrain Wed 27-Mar-19 10:38:52

On a serious note, some cultures in Africa do use names like Prince, Princess, King, Precious. But I am kind of assuming that the OP would have given some context if she was from that sort of background.

I actually do like Zara.

GeriGremlin Wed 27-Mar-19 10:45:13

There is an Australian singer called Prinnie (short for Princess). It suits her so I think this could be a nice nickname if you chose to use it smile

Marcipex Wed 27-Mar-19 10:54:42

It's quite normal in some cultures. My sister has taught Princess, Queen, God, Pretty, Beautiful and Darling.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz Wed 27-Mar-19 11:00:04

If OP was from a background where a name like this is the norm surely it wouldn't even occur to ask the question?

OP didn't come back confused

outpinked Wed 27-Mar-19 11:04:46

redwoodmazza Wed 27-Mar-19 11:08:15

Definitely not.

AuntieCJ Wed 27-Mar-19 11:13:27

God no.

manicinsomniac Wed 27-Mar-19 21:12:00

If you're White British then no, I don't think you can.

If you're Black and Nigerian/Ghanain or similar then maybe. I don't particularly like it but it's a normal name that wouldn't provoke a reaction.

If you're Black British, idk. Probably not but maybe if it's occasionally used where you are?

Kylieemilyj Wed 27-Mar-19 21:15:20

Horrible sorry. It sounds tacky and its one of those non existent name names:/ Having it as a nickname isnt so bad though, calling her your princess or whatever but please give the kid a proper name!

daisypond Wed 27-Mar-19 21:15:54

Queenie is a valid name if you want an alternative. I know a teenage one.

Frodon Wed 27-Mar-19 22:08:22

Prinnie - even more foul than princess.

As for Precious, there are no words.

SevenSeasofRye Wed 27-Mar-19 22:09:21

Completely tasteless.

anniehm Wed 27-Mar-19 22:10:10

It's a title not a name.

anniehm Wed 27-Mar-19 22:12:25

Queenie is a nickname for someone called Victoria traditionally. Precious is a common name in Southern Africa.
