Someone help I’m looking for the perfect baby name that is very unusual but very girly girl at the moment I love blossom, tallulah, Atlanta An dolly but OH doesn’t like any can you think of any other similar smile I already have a Myla-Rose smile

2019Dancerz Fri 04-Jan-19 17:21:16

Get a kitten. Call it one of those names. Then give your baby a real name.

Aliceu92 Fri 04-Jan-19 17:22:25

Got one thanks an it’s already nicked one of my baby names ‘Binxy’ 😄

Ratbagratty Fri 04-Jan-19 17:23:08

Lily, Lilah, Tulip, Cherry?

FamilyOfAliens Fri 04-Jan-19 17:23:17

Cool story, bro.

PurpleDaisies Fri 04-Jan-19 17:23:20

What if your daughter isn’t a “girly girl”?

Changedmynametoolikeyou Fri 04-Jan-19 17:23:44

Jemima-Trixibelle

Foofoo-Honeypie

Wynter-Lettice

2019Dancerz Fri 04-Jan-19 17:23:54

From your list I’d pick Tallulah (have actually met one of these and she was cool) or Atlanta. Dolly should never be a given-name. Blossom - I am old enough to have watched the tv series Blossom so that would be all I thought of.

ShortandSweet96 Fri 04-Jan-19 17:24:08

I like Tallulah. Tallie for short?

bibbitybobbityyhat Fri 04-Jan-19 17:25:04

I really like the name Destiny.

Sallygoroundthemoon Fri 04-Jan-19 17:25:49

Please don't use Dolly. I used to work with one and nobody took her seriously. I'm sure it didn't help when she wanted to move from more junior roles.

GemmeFatale Fri 04-Jan-19 17:25:53

Dorothy with a nickname Dolly when she little?

Florentine - feminine, floral feeling, unusual but less girly so your partner might like it

sonlypuppyfat Fri 04-Jan-19 17:26:25

Ffion, that means flower

ShortandSweet96 Fri 04-Jan-19 17:26:42

Oriana? I love the name Felicity!

Aliceu92 Fri 04-Jan-19 17:27:16

Then she can give herself a nickname if she isn’t girly girl lol

PurpleDaisies Fri 04-Jan-19 17:27:33

confused

Aliceu92 Fri 04-Jan-19 17:28:07

I also like Monroe but what middle name could she have to make it less a harsh name an more pretty smile

Aliceu92 Fri 04-Jan-19 17:29:27

My niece is called Wynter rose so can’t call her that smile I like names where there will only be one of them in the school but a realy pretty name to I don’t like old fashioned names like Florence etc x

Out of 'not names' (e.g not people names) I do like Atlas. But I wouldn't use it personally as I feel it's not fair to call a child a name that isn't 'real'. Iyswim. But if I had to go with a weird name, it would be Atlas. smile

PurpleDaisies Fri 04-Jan-19 17:34:21

Monroe is dreadful. It doesn’t matter what you it it with.

Aliceu92 Fri 04-Jan-19 17:34:23

Aw, I love unusual baby names, and old fashioned ones. But they seem to be making a come back. At this rate I could call my child Edna and there will be 8 in the class with the same name!

AuntieStella Fri 04-Jan-19 17:37:18

I'm somewhat with your DH, as there's only name from your first list that I like (Tallulah)

Any idea what sort of names he likes?

Here are some further ideas, based on what sprang to my mind on reading yours:

Artemis, Allegra, Alethea, Polly, Poppy, Lola, Ariadne, Blodwen, Gwynneth, Primrose, Lin, Florence (nn Flossie)

Aliceu92 Fri 04-Jan-19 17:38:16

I'm set on rose as a middle name if/when I have a girl (not pregnant but trying). It is my OH's mum's name, she passed away a couple of years ago so I think it would be lovely as a middle name smile

Aliceu92 Fri 04-Jan-19 17:39:34

Margot/Margo Rose?

anatol Fri 04-Jan-19 17:52:32

I actually think Autumn Rose is lovely and I'm not usually a fan of unusual names just for the sake of being unusual.
I also love the name Raine/Rayne but could never use it myself because of how it would be pronounced in my family's native language.

PurpleDaisies Fri 04-Jan-19 17:53:29

Autumn Rose sounds like a Yankee Candle variety.

C0untDucku1a Fri 04-Jan-19 17:57:46

iamapixiebutnotaniceone Fri 04-Jan-19 18:00:59

Don't go for a celeb 'out there' name if you want a name that won't belong to anyone else in your child's school. If you want a pretty but not overused name look at popular names from the 70's. My daughter's all have VERY normal names but there are very few with the same name as them.

Gigis Fri 04-Jan-19 18:02:10

You mean a name? ☝🏻

jessstan2 Fri 04-Jan-19 18:19:17

Blossom? What would kids at school call her for short - Blow?

No!!!!

If you are into floral names, Rose, Poppy and Lily are nice, feminine names and Iris is coming back into fashion again.

toolazytothinkofausername Fri 04-Jan-19 18:22:30

Strawberry as a middle name 😃

FartnissEverbeans Fri 04-Jan-19 18:30:03

Atlanta is a really strong, powerful name - I wouldn’t class it as ‘girly girl’. Monroe isn’t very girly either - the Munros are mountains in Scotland and surnames are more traditionally associated with boys. I suppose it’s associated with Marilyn but it just doesn’t seem girly to me on its own. I quite like Tallulah.

How about:

Aurelia
Aurora
Briar
Luna
Luella
Elora

BrokenLink Fri 04-Jan-19 18:37:14

I like Blossom Monroe. I also like Atlanta.

Ribbonsonabox Fri 04-Jan-19 18:37:27
