Cool Scottish boys name

I heard a name when I was pregnant but didn't use it. My friend has similar taste in names and is pregnant now and I'm trying to remember this name to suggest!

It's not Dexter. It's not Alaisdair or Hamish. It's not Ruaridh. But it's along those lines I think. Can anyone think of any of those types of names and see can I ring a bell?!

I like Innes, Sorley and Somerled (perhaps the latter is a form of Sorley?).

Surely not 'Brochan' - it means porridge in Gaelic.

Quinn is Irish, not Scottish. Kendrick is Welsh in origin. However McKendrick (= son of Henry) is a Scottish surname.

If 'Thaine' is a version of Thegn, it's Anglo-Saxon, not Scottish. It was used in Scotland as a title, but only after Anglo-Norman nobles became influential in court circles. It meant landholder from the crown.

Errr Dexter is probably not Scottish. But this name I cannot remember reminds me of Dexter for some reason. I'm sure that makes no sense....

None of them yet, though some nice names there. It's the name of an absolute cool bastard. I just wish I remembered it. Would not have suited my miniature old man baby anyway he has a very traditional name which suits him, but my friend is drawing a blank on names and I'd love to know what it was if it's worth suggesting. She wants me to remember too. Going mad over it!
