Does anyone like this name? I think the nickname Merry is cute for a child, with the full name sounding sufficiently professional.

Is it a little dated though?

Alexarthur Fri 10-Aug-18 20:45:22

The others on our list are Miranda, Jasmine, Briony/Bryony, Morgan, Aurelia and Evelyn.

I think I like the sound of it more than the look of the spelling...I’m not sure. I should like it as I do favour more traditional names but for some reason I’m not 100%.

From your list i really like Evelyn (that was on my list)

LoveInTokyo Fri 10-Aug-18 20:48:23

I like it. Also like Jasmine and Bryony a lot.

I really like Meredith. I think it's elegant.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees Fri 10-Aug-18 20:51:37

Absolutely love it.
Out of your other names, I love Evelyn (I have one grin)

MrsMyreton Fri 10-Aug-18 20:52:45

Love it! Also love Evelyn.

BendydickCuminsnatch Fri 10-Aug-18 20:54:19

Meredith and Bryony are both on our list. Agree about Merry being so sweet and fun, and Meredith is happy sounding but grown up.

Therefore I assume we have similar taste - the rest of our list is:

Although there are various styles of name there IMO!

I really like it. It's my favourite of your list. I was put off by it being Welsh.

Pompom42 Fri 10-Aug-18 20:59:58

I like it a lot. Reminds me of the singer Meredith Brooks

daisypond Fri 10-Aug-18 21:21:28

I don't like it at all, sorry. It just feels like a surname to me or a boy's name - which I rather like. But not for a girl. Merryn?

ReginaPhalange89 Fri 10-Aug-18 22:15:11

Cute ! It reminded me of Brave when I read it , although then realised the princess is Merida not Meridith. Lol

DC2018 Fri 10-Aug-18 22:17:19

I love Meredith. It's a great name. I also really like Aurelia, Bryoni and Morgan. X

DuggeeHugs Fri 10-Aug-18 23:24:32

I love Meredith and think it is the nicest on your list

mastertomsmum Fri 10-Aug-18 23:31:59

Meredith - too American for me

Miranda - sounds good in The Tempist but more dull in real life

Jasmine - Ok, if not pronounced the French way

Briony/Bryony - pony club ish

Morgan - always sounds like a boy

Aurelia - pretty and Disney/Fairytale

Evelyn - old person name

drigon Fri 10-Aug-18 23:38:29

Like Meredith!

Picknickers Fri 10-Aug-18 23:47:36

Too American?! It's Welsh! Best of your list for me.

Notmyrealname85 Fri 10-Aug-18 23:49:23

I knew a Meredith nn “Dee” tho her DSD always calls her Riri smile

HollyHocks13 Fri 10-Aug-18 23:51:49

I love it, fabulous Welsh name that suits a child or an adult. Go for it!

Lucylookingforhelp Fri 10-Aug-18 23:57:15

I really love it but may be biased as have been worn down by my love for Grey’s Anatomy

FloatyFlo Fri 10-Aug-18 23:59:30

Meredith Blake from the parent trap comes to mind. However I still really like it!

thisismadness77 Sat 11-Aug-18 00:03:10

Top of my list today!

HarrietSchulenberg Sat 11-Aug-18 00:15:49

Like this?

Local bus company, only they've missed out the necessary apostrophe. They put the emphasis on the second syllable, so Mer-EH-dith, rathan MER-eh-dith.

Growingboys Sat 11-Aug-18 00:21:21

Hate it, sorry.

Alexarthur Sat 11-Aug-18 00:26:11

We clearly do have similar tastes! I love Adelaide and will be adding that to the list if dh agrees ☺️

Also love Heidi, Imogen, Gabriella and Freya, but they've already been used by close friends/siblings. We're considering Heidi as a middle name though - I think Meredith Heidi flows quite well with our surname.
