Jagger or River - baby boy names

Which do you prefer???

I’ve fallen for two names for my baby boy...I need your help selecting one...

Jagger James Rainnie
River (middle name not selected) Rainnie

If you like one, or really don’t like one, please let me know and why....

My name starts with R and I like the idea of an RR name for my boy but I’m not keen on many boy names with R - apart from River.

Jagger is a name on my baby list for years and I recently dreamt my baby asked to be called this (but don’t let that sway your choice).

Thank you!!!

I don't like Jagger and River doesn't go well with your surname.

River is not my sort of name but I'd much prefer it to Jagger.

Jagger just makes me think of Mick Jagger. And reminds me of Jabba as in Jabba The Hutt although I realise by the time he starts school they will not be contemporary references!

I prefer River but worry River Rainnie sounds a bit.... Watery?

I like river I think it flows better . I don't like Jagger it doesn't sound like a first name to me and sounds a bit harsh I think. of course it's your baby so go with your heart and I often think you can't really decide until you see them anyway

flows better Grin

Definitely agree with the watery issue.

James is a lovely classic name.

To me, Jagger sounds like dagger or jagged. Aggressive and rough sounding. River is sweet but jokes will abound with your surname, surely?

I'll go against the River flow and say that I think Jagger is a pretty cool name. His contemporaries will mostly not have heard of Mick Jagger so that won't necessarily be too much of a millstone.

No to Jagger - firstly... Mick, and secondly is a horrible sounding name, like jagged. Not nice for a little boy, or anyone really.

River is OK, but if your surname is Rainnie, there is just too much potential for people messing around with it, like 'Rainy River' etc.

James is a lovely name.

I like Jagger best only because River Raine sounds like a flood, sorry! Not sure about about another 'J' middle name - could get called JJ which is dated imo.

River Rain(nie) ☔️ ☔️ sounds a bit much?
Jagger just reminds me of kick jagger and I don't know why anyone would name their child after him ..

Sorry

I really don't like either but Jagger is particularly bad.

No to Jagger.

River Rainnie to wet Wink

What about Jago instead of Jagger? It’s a real name, I think it is pretty cool, and it doesn’t sound like a drug addled, dubious-minded old rock star.

River at a push - but not with your surname. Jagger is awful.

Jago is better than jagger.

Jago is inspired!
It's the cornish equivalent of James and sounds Jagger ish

Jago Rainie sounds like a great combo.

Please don’t call your child Jagger! River if you must but it’s dreadful with your surname.
You seem to be looking for out there names...
What about Raven?
