Clara?

Ok so after thinking we were settled on our girl name (Cora), we came up with another name that we like. Would like your opinions on the name Clara. We were thinking of maybe Clara Rose (we are massive Doctor Who geeks). :)

Another question - Clara or Cora? :)

Clara is a beautiful name, it was in my top three for girl (but I had two boys!). Cora I have never heard before. I don't dislike it, but Clara is nicer I think. Very refined, sophisticated name.

Clara is a classic, but not overdone and very pretty.
Cora not so good in my opinion .

Love it. Much better than Cora Smile I know a lovely girl named Clara aged about 14.

I know lots of Claras.

I actually find Clare more classic and refreshing.

Cora is nice too. Easy to spell and pronounce!

Brilliant. Love the Dr. Who link too! So subtle no one will ever notice.

AlyTab I always get excited when I see there's Doctor Who geeks around!
Clara Rose sounds lovely. I got a little tongue tied with the 'R's' but that's just me and how I speak!
I also happen to love Cora. So really I'm no help to you!

Really love Clara. I think it’s simple, elegant and timeless. Also love Dr Who so it’s a win-win for me 😀

Much prefer Clara, hate the name Cora (sorry). I think Cara is more elegant/classy than Clara though. :)

I love it, although I am biased as I have a Clara myself (also inspired by doctor who's Clara). Not so sure on rose as a middle name, but I think it would depend on your surname. If it's a longer surname it should be fine, but ours is short and didn't want 3 short names as it just didn't sound right, so chose a slightly longer middle name.

Both very pretty, I prefer Cora to Clara. I think Clarissa would be a gorgeous alternative!

The name is lovely though, especially love it paired with Rose. Big Doctor Who fan here too.

I have a Clara - we only get positive comments, and we've never regretted our choice.
Although it did have a rise in popularity in 2015, it has since waned (the dr who effect I guess); I've only met one Klara since having dd and nursery said she's the first one that they've ever had (over 10 years open).

Love Clara!

Also love Clary. Both names were my top choices for a DD but DH isn't a fan

The 'Cl' sound in Clara feels a bit awkward to me. What about Cara?

Clara is so much nicer than Cora. It's getting popular though.

The original English prounounciation of Clara is the soft Clare with an a on the end. However the European prounounciation of the name with a hard Cl sound is far more popular these days. Friends of mine use the English prounounciation for their daughter , but everyone else gets in wrong.
