Torin/Thorin...!

I really like Torin. DH has vetoed it but suggested Thorin... He's now decided it's his favourite name. I do like it although bit iffy about LOTR connection. Yes it's very Tolkien but apparently a name in it's own right....

I'm scanning this board for name inspo, reading all the titles to DH and he wants to add it to our list, can't say I'm planning on user a veto either. It's a nice sounding name, sounds Celtic, I like it.

I love Torin for a boy, not so keen on Thorin. It sounds a bit too much like Thorn in my accent.

Hmm I had always assumed they were both pronounced Torin and it was a silent 'h'. Oops. Much prefer Torin to Thorin in that case.

Agree with pp that Thorin has a very much hobbit feel to it. So, if it were between the two, I'd say go for Torin.
