Name for a boy?

I've name changed to hide my ideas! A few people know I'm on mn.

Dh has wondered if Tobias Inigo is too 'posh.' Or flamboyant. Mostly would be Toby though.

Our last name is very plain, one syllable (not that common though)

I want Inigo as the first name so this is my compromise.

Other option is Edward Inigo but our ds1 has an increasingly rather common 'royal name' already. But I do like Teddy.

Thomas has been thought of but we know many Toms and Thomases

Sebastian is another option.

(I've wondered about waiting to see what hair colour is as Edward to me is blonde and Tobias is Brown hair!)

Well, neither would be my choice.
Never heard of Inigo.
Middle names tend only to be read out at graduations, weddings etc., so might not be too bad as a middle name.

I have a son called Toby. And i really wish id listened to everyone and called him Tobias. I wpuod say if you want Toby then definately use Tobias and toby for short. Gives him a "complete" forename for when hes older xx

How do you pronounce inigo?

Thanks, good point for Tobias over Toby. I love Tobias anyway on its own.

Inigo after Inigo Jones. It does remind me of indigo which is a favourite colour and plant.

In-ee-go but more of a short 'i' sound.

Edward to me is blonde and Tobias is Brown hair!

Totally agree!

I think Tobias Inigo is lovely.

Erm, everyone has heard of the princess bride. Surely?!

Love it though

Love the names although I have to admit I was pronouncing Inigo wrong in my head until you mentioned Princess Bride and I clicked. Now I have a really strong urge to watch it: anyone know if it's on Netflix or anything at the moment? Grin

Tobias OR Inigo. Not both, as they are 2 strong names

I’ve heard of the princess bride but never read it. Is there a Tobias Inigo in it?

Don't get too fixed on the blonde hair/brown hair idea. My little man was born with very dark hair, but then lost most of it and it grew back completely blonde!!

I know a baby like that @iwould. A total shock if black hair when he was born, which then went really blonde within a few months. He’s actually called Edward too!

Tobias inigo is a great name, much better than Edward.

No, it's a bit random in our family, though if he's very dark like me I doubt he'll change. Dhs family start out with white hair then can go in any direction, including darker than I am now! Ds1 was rocking the subversive mild ginger gene at birth but is more blonde now.

I know Tobias and Inigo are both strong, but being known as Toby and with a short plain surname it calms it down a bit for day to day life (in my mind!)
