Your thoughts and opinions on Kaia, please.

Sophronia Mon 12-Mar-18 19:39:53

I like it!

Callamia Mon 12-Mar-18 19:41:11

I worked with a Kaja once. She was lovely and smart, and I think of those things when I hear the name.

It's always been one of my faves and is on my short list for our girl due in May smile

DramaAlpaca Mon 12-Mar-18 20:49:54

It's nice.

squoosh Mon 12-Mar-18 20:58:27

I know a lovely little girl with this name.

pipilangstrumpf Mon 12-Mar-18 21:12:52

Is it the feminine version of Kai? I've never heard of it...

NotAllTimsWearCapes Mon 12-Mar-18 21:13:59

Don’t like it at all tbh.

Isadora2007 Mon 12-Mar-18 21:14:41

I don’t like it, sorry. It’s a bit chavy imo.

NellWilsonsWhiteHair Mon 12-Mar-18 21:18:19

I like it. Both the girls I know with this name (junior school aged) are from v middle class, creative/boho type families, fwiw.

Lillylollylandy Mon 12-Mar-18 21:19:39

Cindy Crawford's daughter, the new supermodel, is called Kaia. It's a nice name.

Zaya71 Mon 12-Mar-18 21:51:04

I prefer it spelt Caia, but I think it's lovely either way.

Chocolateyescakeyes Mon 12-Mar-18 21:52:42

I quite like it spelt Caia too!

Arapaima Mon 12-Mar-18 21:53:18

I know one, she’s 12. It’s a lovely name. I like Kai too (for a boy).

PurpleBirch Mon 12-Mar-18 22:32:58

I really don’t like it. Sounds cheap and made up.

MonsteraDeliciosa Mon 12-Mar-18 22:36:28

I also think it sounds made up. Is it actually a name?

I like it. It makes me think of Kaia Gerber (Cindy Crawford's daughter) and she is gorgeous.

pieceofpurplesky Mon 12-Mar-18 23:10:04

I like Kaia and Gaia

pieceofpurplesky Mon 12-Mar-18 23:10:34

Obviously not for twins!

ChocolateCrunch Tue 13-Mar-18 05:10:38

Not keen, sorry

LolitaLempicka Tue 13-Mar-18 05:20:32

Hate it. Really ugly sound.

Mrsknackered Tue 13-Mar-18 08:24:49

I really like it, was on girls list for DS1.

Also like Gaia.

Mrsknackered Tue 13-Mar-18 08:28:14

Pretty sure it's Nordic or just a different spelling of Kaja which is Scandinavian.

Love the automatic 'it sounds foreign' response on Mumsnet which is then covered up with 'sounds made up'

See it all the time, especially with Kaia, Aaliyah, etc.

MedicalEnigma Tue 13-Mar-18 08:33:33

I like it which is weird for me as I dislike Kai.

But I prefer Kaya which I think is Native American.

Either way it has a lovely sound and it’s feminine yet strong sounding and suits a baby girl all through life to an elderly lady
