Cash?

Me and hubby are having a baby boy. He is American so likes names that are a little bit out there or different. He really likes Cash, Mason, Jayden, Carter, Chase and Xavier. When he says them they sound cool but sound weird in my British accent. Please help me? 🤔

Cash - don't use a proper every day word.
Mason, Jayden, Carter - meh but fine
Chase - he'll love being a member of paw patrol
Xavier - really isn't American. How is he pronouncing it?

Xavier is the nicest off your list, Mason and Jayden are cute but extremely popular. Hate Carter (even though it's my last name) as i hate surnames as first names and Chase is just awful it's more a dogs name to me as it reminds me of the dogs from homeward bound and paw patrol!

Cash - Definitely 'out there'
Mason - quite like it
Jayden - popular a few years back, not my cuppa
Carter - ok
Chase - ok, definitely 'American' to my ears
Xavier - I like

Xavier is the only one worth considering from that list. The others are a hard no.

Xavier is nice.
Mason and Carter are OK.
Please don't call him Cash, Chase or Jayden. The first two are weird. The last one was overused about 10-15 years ago.

I like Carter

We know a Carter, he's 14 and it really suits him.

I like Cash.

It's like Shaw's book Cashel Byron's Profession, I think he was supposed to be Irish, but it's a while since I read it.

I really love the sound of the name Cash but I've never met one irl and personally I'd be too concerned that it's a real word that's used all the time. I think too many people would dislike it - but that's a shame because I do really like it!

I think Cash is the worst of the ones you mentioned tbh.

Do you live in the US? Because most of those names are Uber chav here.

Xavier is the only one that isn’t. As long as it’s pronounced correctly and not zayvee er.

Chase you could get away with in the US.

Chase is on the case, using his paws to uphold the laws!

Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine!

Jayden, cash, Mason are horrible to my Brittish ear- but with American accent are ok.

Xavier is the best off your list.

Cash is OK Jonny cash comes to mind
How about Cass?
Mason not bad prefer the first one though
Carter interesting choice, how about Cooper? Carlton?
Jayden not bad how about Jarrett?
Xavier different to the others, lovely name and history behind it, with the cool X initial.

Carter and Chase are a bit trendy / tacky to me and Cash is dreadful imho. I just think of money. Is your partner a big Johnny Cash fan? If so, how about just Jonathan / Johnny?

I quite like Xavier, (depending on pronunciation), and Jayden, (but nobody else on MN seems to).

I don’t like Mason either. Realise I forgot that one!

Xavier
All the others sound a bit ridiculous.
Remind him he's naming an adult as well as a baby.

Cash and Chase are passably acceptable. I once taught a Chance if that's the sort of name you like?!
How about Dash (Dashiell) or something 'cool but proper' like Jared?

Xavier is the best of those on your list.

Cash is just a slang word for money as far as I am concerned. Why would you call a child money?

I agree too that you need to keep in mind how a name will work on an older child and eventually on an adult.

I'm not a fan of these names. The best is Xavier.

DS was friends with a little Cash when we lived in the UK, both parents American. I did ask about the name because I thought it was unusual and the Dad was a big fan of Johnny Cash.
