Currently expecting DC3 and think we are almost decided name for a boy.

However, girls names are proving more difficult. Please could I have your opinions on our shortlist for girls? Surname is a 2 syllable name beginning with W.

So far we have:

Talia (pronounced Tally-a)
Romilly
Jemima
Zinnia

Middle name ideas are Juliet or Eloise

Talia (pronounced Tally-a) - People will constantly pronounce this as 'Tar-lia' so that may annoy you.
Romilly - Cute name, maybe a bit too cutesy. Like that you can get Roma or Milly as nicknames.
Jemima - puddle duck.
Zinnia - sounds like a brand of watch.

Yep, I'd say Tah-lia.
Jemima Eloise is nice.

What about Clementine?

I know a Talia, pronounced Tally a, she does get annoyed at being called Tarrlia. Some people just don't listen! But it is a really pretty name.

I'd go Talia Eloise

Talia-I’ve only ever heard this pn as Tarlia so I wouldn’t use it if you wanted Tally-a.
Romilly-Pretty straightforward and can't think of any negative connotations.
Jemima-I like it but consider it will make lots think of Aunt Jemima or Jemima Puddleduck.
Zinnia-lovely flowers!

I prefer Romilly Juliet or Zinnia Eloise.

I like Romilly and Jemima.

Not too keen on Zinnia, sorry.

And I prefer Juliet over Elouise

Romilly and Jemima. Why not Eloise as a first name?

Romilly and Jemima are my favouries im not keen on Talia but that's partly because I don't like the sound of it in my accent names that end in a always sounder harsher in my accent but that's just personal preference

Most people will pronounce Talia "tah-lee-ah" unless you're in the US/Canada.

So, Jemima.

I like Talia, Zinnia and Juliet and my favourite combination would be Zinnia Juliet.

Talia or Juliet

How about tarryn?

Highpeak · 10/03/2018 08:41

Zinnia juliet sounds lovely. Jemima is cute

I would also assume tarlia, Romiley is a place near where I live so sounds bizarre as a name choice

I actually think Juliet Eloise would be gorgeous.

Doesn't Talia come from Natalia? I'd say the Tal in both as rhyming with pal.

afternoom

See I would say Tarl to rhyme with Carl for both. I guess it depends on accent.

Jemima is the best, it would probably be on my list.
I’d pronounce Talia as Tah-lia too

I like Juliet and Jemima. Romilly is also a pretty name. I've never heard of Zinnia - it sounds like a brand name to me I'm afraid.

I really like Jemima and Zinnia! Zinnia especially would be very cool — Zinnia Juliet.
