Currently 25 weeks pregnant with girl number four and really struggling with her name.
We already have:

Daisy Dorothy
Betty Tabitha
Kitty Matilda

I like traditional/unusual names, with middle names that can be abbreviated incase they grow to hate their first name.

Short list for the new baby is
Winnie
Quincy
Bunty

Middle name Dolores or Delilah.

I'm not completely sold on them though, any opinions or other suggestions?

Polly or Posy seem to fit well

Afreshcuppateaplease · 25/02/2018 09:05

Love the Posy suggestion

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 25/02/2018 09:07

Winnie Delilah

JassyRadlett · 25/02/2018 09:12

I know a little Winnie, she’s brilliant.

Quincy makes me think of the American medical show, and also Quinsy. Bunty feels to nicknamish, and also I associate it with boys.

With the thre you have, I agree a Polly or a Peggy (though then you’d have two Margaret derivatives I guess) would work. I know a tiny April which I think is gorgeous.

SuperBeagle · 25/02/2018 09:13

Winnie Delilah would be the best from your list.

I agree that Posy and Polly work.

Others:

  • Cleo / Clio
  • Sadie
  • Coco
  • Daphne
  • Stella
SuperBeagle · 25/02/2018 09:14

Quincy is definitely masculine, I agree. John Quincy Adams was a well-known American President from moons ago.

sonlypuppyfat · 25/02/2018 09:15

Sounds like you are building up a hockey team

Afternoon · 25/02/2018 09:17

Of the three, Winnie Delilah, although I think Delilah would a great first name.

Norah
Greta
Sadie
Scarlett
Elsa
Celia
Maggie
Penny
Agnes
Belinda
Lorna

Can I just say how unbelievably lucky and blessed you are to be having a fourth girl. I think you should call her Angelica as there is no doubt that this child will be a wonderful person and a blessing to you.
Boys are great but girls will never leave you, as you will always be their Mother. I like my DIls and feel lucky that we are not in conflict but they have Mothers and there is no doubt that they affect the relationship that you have with your son's. Just go on Gransnet or Mumsnet and witness the vitriol directed to them from both sides.
Your daughters will have a wonderful sisterly relationship. I love my brother dearly but it was my sister and I who looked after my parents in old age.
Before I get flamed from lovely Mumsnetters who are not MILs themselves ( and therefore have not experienced what it is like to be a MIL) of course there are wonderful MILs and DILs out there.
When my Dds were pregnant they wanted me their Mum. They get on with their MILs but they feel totally relaxed with me.
I love my boys to bits but I feel great envy that you will have 4 Girls.
Take care x
